We recently did a talk about Space Exploration in Strategy games as part of  TactiCon 2024. Our talk was led by our Lead Marketing Manager Will Flanagan with guests Claudia Thomas, Game Designer, and Freddie Jones, Associate Programmer, on Mars Horizon 2.  Our Special guest for this talk was Dr Sean McMahon, senior academic and researcher in astrobiology from the The University of Edinburgh who has been advising us on real life science as we design the game. In this talk we spoke about the ways we’ve worked with Sean and his team to incorporate authentic aspects of astrobiology into the game, as well as challenges we’ve come up against, and solutions we've come up with.   Talks and panels like this one are a great way for us to let our community see how we work with real world experts in our mission to make our titles authentic. They also give our partners a chance to speak to a new audience, including gamers across ours and Steam’s community. TactiCon is a celebration of strategy games across Steam with discounted titles, exclusive demos, plus panels and talks with strategy developers. 📅 June was a very busy month for Auroch Digital and we're so proud of our team for coming together this month. Starting with the release of Democracy 4: Console Edition, which we ported to Xbox, Switch, and PlayStation. Our dev team took this port to another level and recreated the UI for the console version to make it more controller-friendly. We also supported the team at Stunlock Studios in laying the groundwork for exploring other platforms so that they could focus on developing V-Rising and make it the ultimate vampire experience. Our final accomplishment for June was launching the long-awaited DLC for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. It was incredible to see different parts of the Herd come together to do the marketing for Forges of Corruption with Programming and Production taking part in a live stream, while Design and Art helped with Q&As. The entire team at Auroch Digital is so passionate about the different projects we work on and consistently go above and beyond 🚀

Yesterday we launched Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun - Forges of Corruption, the first DLC for our boomer shooter Boltgun! The DLC contains new weapons, new enemies, and new environments as part of a brand new campaign for the game and we are so excited to see it in players hands. Alongside the DLC we also launched a huge free update for all owners of the base game which includes 2 features which were highly requested by our community - Horde Mode and a Navigation Guide! We also included a whole host of bug fixes and quality of life changes in this update. It’s not always possible to go back to a game to add things you want to, and it's not always possible to give players things they request, so having the chance to do both of these things meant a lot to the team. It’s been great to see player reaction and see so many of our community having fun playing as Malum Caedo again. We've done a lot of awesome community focussed activities around the launch included Reddit AMAs, Discord Q+As, articles, blogs, and a dev stream with the first exclusive gameplay reveal, which we first premiered in our Discord whilst chatting with our community. In the stream Programmer Matt and Lead Producer Zach go head-to-head to find out who is the Emperor's mightiest weapon as they race to take on the first level of the DLC.
