Pezeshkian is doing outreach to Russia and Iraq, and he is receiving congratulations on his new position from these countries, as well as Pakistan, and groups such as Hamas.
"The Islamic Republic has always supported the resistance of the people of the region against the illegitimate Zionist regime," Pezeshkian said in a message to Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Hezbollah.
The enlargement of the sites follows an October 2022 deal in which Iran agreed to provide missiles to Russia, which has been seeking them for its war against Ukraine.
