Miłość do przyrody wyspy Arran aż bije z tej książki. Jej niewątpliwą zaletą są autorskie zdjęcia ilustrujące opisywane historie. Trochę szkoda, że wydawnictwo nie zdecydowało się na bardziej atrakcyjną szatę graficzną - wśród książek podróżniczych jest teraz tyle ciekawych rozwiązań, że niewielkie prostokąty na białym tle trącą myszką.
