I'm a Christian author who likes writing drama and humor. My parent book is a nonfiction treatise that sets the stage for what goes into my novels, incorporating theology and philosophy into fun reading.

Also, for those interested to know more, my LinkedIn profile reports my 26+ year career as a medicinal chemist before I started writing full-time in 2016.

Finally, my website has a blog that I use to showcase my humor. Here is an example:

Will it Hurt?
Grandpa looked carefully. She wiggled it to show him. “Hum,” he said, “when I pull a tooth it only hurts badly for a little bit.” She reluctantly agreed. But, then Grandpa had

I asked my wife how many books she reads. The report said average readers finish twelve books per year. I should emphasized ‘readers’ because the average person reads three or less. I didn’t say anything about voracious readers who burn through fifty books; superreaders over eighty. It was when I complained that too many of my books are over five hundred pages, holding back my reader status, that Read more of this blog post »

This a book that deserves a close read. There is no point in looking at math, you need to do math if you really want to learn it. That said, I found about 85% of the examples were doable (although admittedly I took calculus in college, so it was more ...more

How nice to read something that draws out your thoughts, and then helps you analyze them instead of brashly telling you what they ought to be. This is a great book for those yet to reach a firm decision about whether Christianity is for them.

“What? Are you oblivious?"
Sally's tone of voice was on the level, but Heidi's had a little sting in it. She walked over to face her, nose to nose, looking her right in the eyes. This was Heidi. This was the one girl in all the world she trusted, and here she was, out in mid-court, tennis racquet in one hand, balls in the other, being rebuked by her. No one spoke. The tension started to give way as they felt the sun beaming down, warming the green asphalt, tanning their arms and legs. The wind was gently blowing. It was a perfect day for tennis if they could manage to get to it.”

“Studies have found that American teenagers are two and half times more likely to experience elevated enjoyment when engaged in a hobby than when watching TV, and three times more likely when playing a sport. And yet here’s the paradox: These same teenagers spend four times as many hours watching TV as they do engaging in sports or hobbies.”
Shawn Achor, The Happiness Advantage: The Seven Principles of Positive Psychology that Fuel Success and Performance at Work

“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”
Marcus Tullius Cicero

“It is a good rule, after reading a new book, never to allow yourself another new one till you have read an old one in between. If that is too much for you, you should at least read one old one to every three new ones.”
Athanasius, On the Incarnation
