I reads like a historical novel. Which is odd, but what I really liked about it

It depends on how active and wild your imagination is. It isn't a typical blood and gore horror, but if you tend to picturize the events described in the book while you read it, you will, like me, get freaked out by it!! I have been mulling over certain concepts described in the book since I began reading it. It's one of the most captivating books I've read..Well, happy reading to you!! :)

Not really. I would, actually, say it's far from being a horror novel. It's closer to action than horror. There are some rather... grotesque scenes in it, but nothing you wouldn't get from an action novel normally. There's no overly descriptive gore moments, and there's nothing that will give you nightmares. Actually, think of a war book, add zombies, and you have World War Z.
Julie Wetzel
No, this is not a horror book. There are zombies, but it's interviews from survivors of the Zombie wars. There are some suspenseful and emotional moment in the books, but it not 'jump out and scare you' or 'blood, guts, and gore'. Definitely worth the read
Erik Forsström
This is by no means a horror book in my opinion. It's an after fact recount of events already gone by and it doesn't have any real surprise scares or uncomfortable tension.
An excellent read!
An excellent read!

It's more akin to hard science fiction than outright horror. It unfolds as an oral history of the war as told to a chronicler, so there are recountings of horrible events, but you are not immersed in the horror of those events.

I don't think you'd have a problem with you. I have similar tastes, and because this book is in the form of after-action interviews, it moves you one step back from the horror and removes much of the creepy suspense.
