Same issue.

I can play the game and adjust quality settings but can not adjust/tweek display settings like resolution, anti aliasing, etc.

Currently locked in (un-adjustable) with 2k resolution(using Radeon Super Resolution to up it to 4k), anti-aliasing FXAA High, FSR none.

It looks good and runs at around 153.6 fps average as is. But I am constantly trying to tweek a little extra quality while maintaining respectable frame rates on many of my games especially when new game updates and graphics drivers updates are released.

I've searched Steam discussions for this issue on their end with no result.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that I think the GOG version needs updated to work with the latest graphics drivers (AMD in our case).

When I last played with regularity (April?) everything was working as expected. Nearly a year later we have new game versions and graphics drivers.

I would think that maybe a roll back to previous drivers may resolve but I can't be bothered to make that effort for just one game in my excessively large library...

Do you Guys use GOG Galaxy to start the game?

It made me much trouble in the graphic settings menu and all the trouble was gone the moment i shut Galaxy down and started the game without it.

I dont know if a Galaxy Install can run without Galaxy, but the offline installer surely does start alone and Galaxy is optional.

And i dont know but i guess if you test that its best to shut Galaxy down beforehand.

Maybe it helps...

Ok, i tested a bit and the version installed via GOG Galaxy crashes regardless if Galaxy is running or not.

The only version that does not crash in the graphic menu is the version installed via the offline installer files without GOG Galaxy running while gaming.

Fix your stuff GOG!

Honestly, the game looks like ass compared to other space games.
I am not a native english speaker so i have no clue what that means...

Imo X4 Spaceships look quite good to really outstanding, the NPC look at little outdated in appearance and animation but that is hardly a reason for me to be concerned about it.

The textures could be better on some stations i guess some are rather old and some are rather new and the difference is quite perciveable.

But yeah, overall i am not concerned about the visuals that much as long the game is good.
Thorqemada Your posts gave me the idea to try disabling the GOG overlay and that seemed to fix the anti-aliasing problem for me. Thanks
