I am running Win 7 6600K 16GB Ram etc. When I launch game just goes to black screen with cursor? I tried to repair and same deal? Anyone else?
I had that initially, so I went to the game folder and chose WinXP SP3 compatibility and then Run as Administrator and that worked for me.
Apart from that, turns out that if you rename the main exe file to 'mohaa.exe' it'll work fine even though the intro videos are still bugged.

I found this on a Microsoft support forum dated about two years back. Wierd huh? ?_?

Hey thanks!
And i can confirm this too, it seems that renaming "sof2" to "mohaa" solved the problem for me at least

A little bit off topic: This fix sort-of also works with the medal of honor allied assault expansions
if you can not get them working on win10.

lol, ok. worked!! thanks

I just tried both of these approaches -- changing compatibility to XP SP2 and running as admin, and after that, renaming the SoF2 exe to mohaa -- and neither worked for me. The game still doesn't run past an initial black screen.

When the game is initially booting, the startup dialogue mentions something about "Can't find..." and "WARNING:", but it scrolls by way too fast for me to see that to which it refers.

I'm running Windows 10, if that helps.

clarry: Yes, they both use the Quake 3 engine. Some graphics drivers enable quirks depending on the name of the binary you're running, in order to work around known bugs in released games.
thats actualy good to know. i had no idea what graphics-engine mohaa was running on. also, yes: renaming the .exe worked for me as well. i was surprised that it was sooooooooooooo easy to fix the launch-crash problem. thanks.
