No, it is a false positive. The developer of dgVoodoo himself has been fairly outspoken about it too, so if you did a little bit of research you would have already realised this.

I'm on Windows 10 2004 and it didn't help me, there is black screen and nothing happens when I run the game, I tired everything :(

This got the game to finally work!!! Thank you so much. :D Before it would always crash at start up or not even start at all, even with the GIM mod. I'm using GIM (won't load without it) and since the dgvoodoo wrapper requires to use the DKII.exe and not the DKII-DX.exe, it says the patch is at 1.5 in the lower left on the main menu. Is this 1.7 under the hood with improved AI? It seems like it is as the jack-in-the-box trap and maidens are still there, at least in skirmish (not sure on my pet dungeon modes). The documentation is a bit confusing.

Also, I have a 1600 x 900 monitor. How would I go about to getting the game to run in that resolution? :)

EDIT: It does revert to 1.5 and removes elites, and the maiden (to be fair she was 1.7 only). I find that a bummer! However, I was able to load the game without the GIM mod and just used dgvoodoo wrapper and was able to recruit the maiden and elites in my pet dungeon. So I'm happy. Had to set the DKII.exe in windows XP compat. Wish there was improved AI for 1.7 content. Maybe there is, I could be missing something.

@soullos: GIM is version 1.51 with some of 1.7 features merged in. This is because 1.7 is broken.

This is pure GIM, without the balance changes, but it includes the fixed single player levels. This way people can attract Dark Angels in single player and still play multiplayer against non-gim people. DKII.exe is for single player, DKII-DX.exe for multiplayer.

Installed the Voodoo and GIM mods after lagg and trailing issues, which they resolve however they change the graphics to be difficult to see whats going on, any suggestions would be appreciated

To make DK2 crash less on W10.
1. Right click on your desktop, choose NVIDIA Control Panel
2. Choose, Adjust desktop color settings (to the left)
2. Choose, Other applications control color settings > Apply
3. Choose, Manage 3D settings (to the left)
4. Choose, the tab > Program Settings
5. (1. Select a program to customize:) search for dkii.exe (If you don’t see it already)
6. Go to Texture filtering – Trilinear optimization > make it Off.

For anyone facing the Black&White only graphics issue, the above steps also help with that. No more graphics issues after doing the steps!

Can't get it working properly either. If I leave it at default settings and follow the instruction, the game launches, but parts of it is in black and white, and the game itself looks way off, like super washed out. If I go into any map, it's even worse and the escape menu is unreadable.

If I tweak the DirectX settings videocard option, I can get the game working fine and looking good, only now the hand of evil is a black and white box, until I pick something up and it reverts to normal so long I hold something. If I drop it, it goes back to the box.

No really sure how to fix this, anyone experience something similar ?
