The Final Shape is a new DLC that arrived to Destiny 2 a couple of days ago. This add-on introduces a new campaign and some other activities. One of them is Arena: Breach Executable. This quest raises some doubts in players. From this guide you will learn about Assimilation Piston Locations.

Planetary Assimilation Piston Locations in Destiny 2 (D2) Explained

One of the new activities from The Final Shape is Arena: Breach Executable. This activity is part of the Episode: Echoes. This quest causes some problems for players – all because of the Smash Planetoid Assimilation Piston prompt. In theory, this is a simple activity to perform. In practice, however, the case looks more ambiguous.

  1. First of all, determining the location of Assimilation Piston is questionable. Players are arguing about where they can be found. There are often claims that their location is random. However, it seems not accurate. These objects spawns in two places (at least mostly).
  2. The first is in the transition area between the first and second stages of the mission (check out easynow Youtube video if you still can’t find it). The second place is right before the entrance to the boss (check out Serroh Ascended Youtube video for visual guidance).
  3. The Assimilation Piston itself is a pillar of light with a stone foundation and circular ornament on it. If you approach it, a marker with a star will appear.
  4. Some people report that Assimilation Piston sometime does not spawn at all. However, it is hard to determine whether this is an oversight by players or a bug.
  5. When you locate Assimilation Piston you must hit it with charged Planetary Piston Hammer.
