As you already know, in the coming days the PC/Xbox Game Pass service will be enriched with two premiere games - the platformer Planet of Lana and strategy game Railway Empire 2. The former will be released tomorrow on PC, XOne and XSX/S.
Today, however, its first reviews began to appear online. It looks like there's a lot to look forward to - and there's a lot to look forward to. Planet of Lana is rated high (Metacritic.com and Opencritic.com are still collecting them - we will update this post with additional data later).
Planet of Lana - selected ratings
- Edge - 9/10
- God is a Geek - 9/10
- XboxEra - 9/10
- Gaming Bolt - 9/10
- GamesRadar - 9/10
- Press Start Australia - 8.5/10
- PureXbox - 8/10
- TheSixthAxis - 8/10
- Game Informer - 7.75
- Digital Trends - 7/10
The main praise is for the storyline, the ingeniously designed environmental puzzles, the visuals and the soundtrack. It is worth noting here that the game is quite short - it takes about 6 hours to complete it.
And what is Planet of Lana? anyway? It's a 2D platformer offering a pretty, hand-drawn, green world, in which we play the role of a girl, trying to keep it unspoiled after the arrival of a mysterious army of machines. The protagonist is accompanied by a cat-like companion, also taking part in the game. The game itself, however, is devoid of combat - instead, we explore successive locations and solve logic puzzles.
