In Destiny 2: The Final Shape, you can obtain Khvostov 7G-02, an auto rifle. Khvostov holds a special place in the hearts of many veteran Guardians as it was the first weapon players wielded in Destiny. Read on if you want to know how to find all 15 Lost Encryption Bits to claim this legendary gun.

How to Unlock Khvostov in Destiny 2

To get the Khvostov 7G-02 in Destiny 2 you need to:

  1. Complete 8 main missions in Final Shape campaign (the 8th mission unlocks after you finish the World First Raid).
  2. Get 9 Lots Encryption Bits from regional chests.
  3. Start Alone in the Dark quest.
  4. Get 6 Lost Encryption Bits from Cyst Missions.
  5. Open the golden chest in the Impasse, where Khvostov could be found in Destiny 1.

How to Get All Lost Encryption Bits in Destiny 2

The hardest part of obtaining Khvostov weapon is to locate all 15 Lost Encryption Bits. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Golden chests: 9 bits are in golden chests. There are three hidden chests scattered throughout each region: The Landing, The Blooming, and The Impasse.
  2. Cyst Missions: 6 bits are obtainable through Cyst missions from Micah-10. Complete some of her weapon quests, and when you start Alone in the Dark quest, follow the storyline. Each Cyst contains a hidden Lost Encryption Bit. Although they can be difficult to find, you can revisit these areas or repeat the quest to obtain them.

Finding all 15 bits can be quite challenging, but some players have already accomplished it. For example, HarryNinetyFour provides detailed locations for all of them in his video.

That is how you obtain the legendary version of the Khvostov. However, no one has figured out how to get the exotic version yet.
