FAQ

Q: can I upload my work here?

A: if it is a physical work - painting, embroidery, sculpture etc etc... If it is either a portrait of, or a work clearly connected with a well-known person whom you admire and respect - then YES!

Q: which folder should I choose?

The folders are arranged by domains.

- MUSIC: musicians, composers, and also album covers, drawings about music pieces (songs, ballets, symphonies...)

- SCIENCE: scientists and science communicators.

- LITERATURE: writers and book characters, scenes from books, poets and their poems.

- CINEMA: movies and TV actors, directors, characters.

- OTHER ARTISTS: artists in the broad sense - painters, dancers, whoever does not fall into the above categories.

- SPORT: inspiring people from professional sports.

- OTHER PUBLIC FIGURES: for example, politicians (see below about dubious figures), models, activists. This folder might split in several later.

Q: how many deviations can I upload?

A: TWO per day. You might have tons of portraits of your favourite musician / actor, but try not to spam :)

Q: I have a hand-painted picture based on an iconic album cover, but it's not a portrait - can I upload it here?

A: yes, you can!

Q: there is a very good musician in my hometown, I drew his portrait, can I upload it here?

A: the admin(s) will Google the person to see if the person is really well-known. Otherwise - your subject has to gain popularity first ;)

Q: I admire Hitler and I drew his portrait - can I upload it here?

A: Hitler is not an inspirational figure and will not be accepted. Decision on any controversial person will be made case-by-case, with some degree of subjectivity.

Q: why is the Featured folder empty?

A: I find it impossible to choose the "featured" pieces among the multitude of beautiful works in this group ^^ And frankly, I just could not find the way to remove the "featured" folder via the group controls. Again, any tips on how to manage this thing - let me know :)
