Privacy and cookie policy

1. General provisions
  1. This Privacy Policy decribies how we collect, share and use through ABTShield service any information that, used alone or in connection with other information, may relate to you, also this Policy sets out the rights you have in relation to Personal Data we process concerning you and describes the way in which you can execute them.   

  2. Please be assured that we take our privacy obligatios very seriously, so this is why we have developed this Privacy Policy describing binding standards in order to protect your Personal Data. 

  3. In our capacity as data Controller, we are responsible for ensuring that the procceing of Personal Data complies with the applicable data protection legislation, and more particularly with the GDPR. This Privacy Policy describes the high standards we apply to protect your Personal Data with the utmost care. 

  4. The Controller has appointed a Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted by e-mail under the address: kamil.belka@edgenpd.com in any matter related to the processing of Personal Data.

2. Definitions 

ABTShield service: AI-based research service focused on automatically identifying bots and trolls to assure the security of traffic on the Internet.    

Controller: EDGE NPD limited liability company with a registered office in Warsaw (03-902), ul. Czeska 22A, whose registration documents are maintained by the District Court in Warsaw, XIII Commercial Division, under KRS number: 0000441520 (also as: ‘we’).  

Cookies: small text files installed on the device of the User viewing the website where the ABTSHIELD is installed. Cookies usually contain the domain name of the website they come from, the time they are stored on the terminal device, and a unique number. 

GDPR: Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data. 

Personal Data: any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

User: a natural or legal person or an organisational entity without legal personality visiting the website where ABTShield is installed or using the services of the website or application  where ABTSHIELD is installed.

 

3. Description of ABTShield service
  1. ABTShield service is an automated research service related to the security of traffic on the Internet, the purpose of which is to detect undesirable sources of network traffic.  The main purpose of ABTShield service is to analyse network activities connected with the unique source of connection  in order to detect mechaninicsm like troll or bots and to ensure safety of website traffic and to prevent from internet scams caused by undesirable sources of network traffic. Purpose of ABTShield is not to identity an individual person, however some information collect by Controller may be treated as Personal Data.

  2. While using ABTShield service the Controller collects data mentioned below: 

  1. Web Context: Information about the page that a user is currently viewing, such as the page URL, URL parameters, referral URLs, and other data that can give context about what the user is doing. 

  2. IP Address: This is used to get a generalized idea of a user's geographical location, used ISP or affiliated TCP network 

  3. Cookies: In a form of temporary hashes that help identify the same web-browser over time. 

  4. Device Declarative Information: This encompasses various pieces of information that a device voluntarily shares with a server. This can include the type of device being used, the operating system, and other specifications.  

  1. Data mentioned above are processed by the Controller:

  1. for the purpose of provision ABTShield service by the Controller including passive identification of the device connecting to the website in order to ensure network traffic safety,

  2. for analytical and statistical purposes –  consisting in the analysis of the Users’ activity in order to ensure network traffic safety,

  3. for the purpose of possible investigation, inquiry or defence against claims 

– the legal basis for the processing is the Controller’s legitimate interest (Article 6 paragraph 1 point (f) of the GDPR).

  1. We may also automatically collect certain information from the User’s device. More specifically, the information we automatically collect may include information concerning  IP address, unique identification numbers, browser type, broad geographic location (for example, country-wide or city-wide) and other technical information. We use this information for achieve purposes of ABTShield service, especially to ensure network traffic safety.

 

4. Period of personal data processing.

The Controller processes data solely for the period necessary to achieve aims of processing thereof indicated in the Policy but not longer than 365 days. The period of data processing may be extended if the processing is necessary for the purpose of investigation, inquiry or defence against possible claims, as well as at the request of competent public authorities, and after this period – only in the case and to the extent required by the law. After the expiry of the period of processing, the data are irreversibly deleted.

 

5. User’s rights
  1. Personal Data is processed in compliance with the provisions of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (hereinafter: GDPR) and other binding provisions.

  2. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the Personal Data that we collect and process concerning you. The measures we use are designed to provide a level of security appropriate to the risk of processing your Personal Data. We have, directly or indirectly through our service providers, use of the following security measures: securing system access, prevention, detection and action measures against physical hazards (such as fire), backup systems, network security, logical access protection, list of authorised personnel and authentication system. 

  3. The Controller respects the rights of each User in terms of the processing of their personal data. In particular, each person whose data are being processed has the following rights:

  1. the right to obtain information about the processing of their personal data,

  2. the right to access their personal data and to request their rectification, completion or amendment,

  3. the right to have their data erased (“the right to be forgotten”),

  4. the right to the limitation of the processing of their data,

  5. the right to transfer their data,

  6. the right to object to the processing of their data for the Controller’s legitimate purposes, 

  7. the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory body dealing with the protection of personal data.

  1. The Controller stipulates that in the event when the User cannot be definitely identified (for example due to the scope of data provided by the User), the Controller may refuse to take action at the request of the User whom the data concern, at the same time notifying the User thereof, unless the User provides additional information allowing for their identification.

 

6. Data recipients

The result of ABTShield service is the report indicating the risks of the occurrence of mechanisms in the network like troll or bots on the website or application where ABTShield service is on. The report is prepared automatically and is provided to the individual client of the Controller managing of the website, or application. The report contains the list of connections marked as sequence of random 32 characters which in connection with other information, may relate to an individual person.

 

7. Transfer of data outside of the European Economic Area.

Your data is not transfered by us outside of the European Economic Area. 

 
8. Cookies. 
  1. Be kindly inform that most web browsers automatically accept Cookies, but you can edit your browser options to block them in the future. However that disabling Cookies may limit your access to a large number of websites. 

  2. There is no one standardized way to remove Cookies since different browsers clear Cookies using different procedures. Most web browsers and advertising technologies offer a way of managing how your data is used. Below are links to help you set your preferences.

  1. Be kindly inform, that your approval is not required in relation to cookies which is s necessary for authentication, security and provide access to services provided through the website or application, because these kind of information are collected on the basis of the legitimate interest of the Controller. Thus, the User's lack of consent to the collection of Cookies described in the previous sentence or the withdrawal of the User's previously granted consent is wihthout effects in relarition to these Cookies.

  2. Cookies used by the Controller are not used to collect information constituting Personal Data, although some of the information may be treated as Personal Data. 

  3. ABTShield service uses only “first-party cookies" as a sequence of random 32 characters in order to identify the network traffic of individual User of website or application where ABTShield is on. 

  4. Cookies mentioned above are stored by the Controller for a period 365 days.
