How to use this wiki

Where to start

If you are new to modding KCD or modding in general start with the section Before You Start, which will guide you through setting up your system before you start modding, and then follow to Tutorials, which contains explanations of basic concepts in the game systems and extensive training programmes, so that you don’t have to learn some of the stuff on your own. Alternatively, you can jump straight into Basic Mods section which aims to explain how to reach all the basic modding goals you could have in mind (from adding new weapon items to adding whole new levels and quests). Glossary contains quick explanations of frequently used terms. All of these pages should properly link into documentation where appropriate. Mods is a separate section reserved for wiki pages for individual mods.

How to use mods

Guidelines on how to use mods should always be included in some readme file in the mod files package. General information about loading orders, game data structure and guidelines for mod publishing can be found in Before You Start.

Help maintain and expand this Wiki

The core of this wiki was created by Warhorse Studios staff, but it can never get extensive enough. We believe the community should be able to run and maintain its own knowledge database that helps newcomers as well as experienced modding veterans to create the best mods possible. That is why you can create additional content for this wiki. To do that you have to either:

  • Editing existing wiki pages
  • Add a new page using the form below. To have a new page show up on the index, ensure you tag it with the correct categories e.g. "Gettings Started" and "Kingdom Come Deliverance".

Add a new page to the wiki

What is moddable in Kingdom Come: Deliverance?

Kingdom Come: Deliverance wasn’t built with modding in mind and therefore not everything we’d wish to be moddable is. And some things which are moddable in theory have very limited support on the side of the tools provided. Nonetheless Warhorse Studios worked extensively to expand the tools‘ abilities to create additional content and game’s ability to process various data diffs.

Full Support

  • Add new Items (with the exception of new clothes)
  • Add new textures
  • Add new 3D enviro models
  • Modify RPG rules
  • Add new levels
  • Add new NPC behaviours
  • Add new quests
  • Add new NPCs
  • Add new music and sounds

Limited Support

  • Add new clothes (Note: Thanks to the specific ways the clothing system in KCD works creating new clothes is a complex task with very limited support although it is technically possible)
  • Add new heads (Note: facial hair is always combined with existing model as a separate head)
  • Add new character models
  • Add new hairstyles
  • Add new weather profiles

No Support

  • Create new language localizations. If you seriously wish to localize the whole game please contact [email protected]
  • Change level data
  • Generate new lip-sync
  • Change UI (you can disable certain elements)
  • Add new animations
