Disclaimer
This mod does not contain any Feldreẞ or any unique models, '86:Eighty Six - The world of Asato' consists only of carefully handcrafted retextures meant to resemble the uniforms and nations of the world encapsulated in Asato Asato's '86' in a functional state.
This is not an official mod either, it is only what can be interpreted as a love letter to the Beautiful world of 86.
(this mod does not contain any vehicles or weapons, those seen in screenshots are purely for scenebuilding and are from official Arma 3 DLC's)

What is 86:Eighty Six? (To those who don't know)
"86: Eighty-Six" explores themes of discrimination, the dehumanizing effects of war, and the struggle for identity and justice. Through its gripping narrative and complex characters, the series delves into the harrowing realities faced by those forced to fight and the psychological toll of conflict. In this world written by Asato Asato, Readers & Viewers follow our group of main characters throughout their conflict against a robotic horde called the Legion. This adventure (or rather a tale of survival) brings these characters to many well written nations. Said nations are what I'm trying to encapsulate in within my ability to retexture in Arma 3.

The Republic of San Magnolia

The Republic of San Magnolia is a central setting in "86: Eighty-Six," a dystopian nation engaged in a long-standing war with the Giadian Empire. The Republic prides itself on its democratic values and claims to have developed autonomous drones to counter the Empire's robotic Legion, asserting that this technological advancement has eliminated human casualties. However, this is a facade.

In reality, the Republic's drones are piloted by humans from the 86th District, a segregated area where the inhabitants are stripped of their citizenship and forced to fight. These people, known as the 86, are considered sub-human and expendable by the Republic's predominantly Alba (white-haired) citizens. The Alba live in relative safety and comfort, unaware or indifferent to the true nature of the war.

The Republic's government perpetuates a cycle of discrimination and propaganda, maintaining the illusion of a just and humane society while exploiting and sacrificing the 86. This hypocritical and oppressive regime sets the stage for the series' exploration of themes such as racial discrimination, the dehumanizing effects of war, and the quest for truth and justice.

As discovered by either Reading or watching the show, the reader/viewer may come across the fact that the Republics Ground forces were all but annihilated in the first few weeks of the war against the legion. Although this is an interesting tale that I'd suggest you read the books to explore, I have decided to try my best to recreate what a potential combat uniform would look like.

The Federal Republic of Giad

The Federal Republic of Giad is a significant entity in the "86: Eighty-Six" series by Asato Asato. Originally the Giadian Empire, it was known for its advanced military technology and the creation of the autonomous Legion drones, which were initially designed to fight wars without human casualties. However, a catastrophic event led to the Legion turning against their creators, plunging the Empire into chaos and leading to its downfall.

After the collapse of the Empire, the remnants of its population and military reformed into the Federal Republic of Giad. This new government is democratic and seeks to distance itself from the imperial past and the horrors unleashed by the Legion. The Republic is characterized by its efforts to rebuild and protect its citizens from the relentless Legion threat, as well as its attempts to foster alliances and improve relations with neighboring nations.

Unlike the Republic of San Magnolia, the Federal Republic of Giad does not practice institutionalized discrimination and aims to treat all its citizens equally. The Federal Republic of Giad represents a glimmer of hope and the possibility of a more just and equitable society in the war-torn world of "86: Eighty-Six."

not that I know how to code any of that but I know it'd work

slap a walking animation on there for the movement and you'd have a working feldreb

(allowing the vehicle to move in any direction with the illusion that the body is still facing the same direction)
Motterfixedit  [author] Jul 20 @ 9:19pm
(IIRC the body itself is the turret and the movement is done by an invisible chassis)

@tredavidson77 agreed, I know information about how the optre ghost & wraith work and I feel like they could use the same framework, but when you start adding on stuff like jumping it'd prob get a bit performance heavy

@Project Angel I think the only mechs he could make are battlemechs from mechwarrior or similar. Hell maybe even titans or knightmares. But I don’t think the mechs from 86 with how they move and act aren’t really even feasible even with webknight’s black magic and that’s on top of how janky this games engine can be.

This sounds dumb, but have you thought about trying to talk to one of those black magic users like webknight about how you would go about making the mechs as it's very possible you could make them. Otherwise returxtured vanilla would work.

@Shnubby I'll most likely do what you suggested as a later update
