Airlock Door

Description
Allows Duplicants to pass between areas while maintaining full atmospheric isolation. Replace your liquid locks with real airlocks today!



Features
  • Built from 400 Refined Metal and requires the research Improved Ventilation.
  • Uses a double door and internal pump to never allow Liquid or Gas to exchange between its sides when Duplicants use the door.
    • Does not give the Sopping Wet debuff like a liquid airlock.
    • Cannot boil or freeze (but doors can melt!).
    • Does not interrupt chores like a regular door or checkpoint based airlock.
    • Material is automatically returned to the side from where it came.
    • Operates faster if less material needs to be pumped out of the interior.
  • Requires 120 W of power to operate and stores up to 7 uses of energy in its internal battery.
  • Supports an Automation input to lock or unlock the door to Duplicant passage.
  • Access control can be configured like a regular door, and settings can be copied between Airlock Doors.

Warning
  • Duplicants may become trapped if the Airlock Door loses power during operation, especially during heavy use.
  • Airlock Door cannot be set to Open and cannot be locked or unlocked manually.
  • Duplicants must hold their breath inside of the Airlock Door during operation, as the atmosphere is vacuumed during passage. Atmo Suit or similar Oxygen-providing clothing is still recommended for traversing unbreathable areas.
  • Airlock Door, despite containing Vacuum between its doors most of the time, can transfer heat between its sides through its backwall.
  • Consider building the Power wire first before the door, as the door cannot open without power, and Duplicants can only reach errands inside the door if it is powered.
  • Do not build Airlock Door directly on top of another Mechanized Airlock or Airlock Door, as the door may malfunction on reload depending on which one is loaded and initialized first.

Great mod! Feels like it should be included by default. Only issue i have run into is that if the dupes build the airlock before finishing the wiring, they wont be able to finish teh wiring (will say unreachable). 2 possible fixes, one let the airlock work just like other unpowered airlocks (will open and close and let dupes through without doing any of the automated features), or move the power location to the outside and not the middle of the airlock.
