intel i7 6700
16ram
1080p
GTX 1070 8gb
in game settings are
1080p
quality on very high
SSAA at 2x
Tessellation at very high
Texture filtering at AF 16x
Phiysx is on
before wheni first play the game thats the setting it was set at and i was getting over 100fps. so i dont know if they had a update for the game?

There have been no updates to this old game in years. Turn tessellation to high, disable blur, then chjeck framerate. If still having issues you can try running SSAA 2x or physx because your card probably cant handle both. I use DSR to pump up the resolution instead of SSAA.

ok il try that kind werid though it was doing that.
Reduce SSAA back to Off or 0.5x. Enable vsync.

To get an idea of what your PC can do, run the benchmark program in your Metro Last Light Redux folder.

Just lower SSAA, with SSAA to x2 i get 30 fps and at 0.5x i get 100 FPS.

I think this game's anti aliasing solution is highly taxing.
I have a GTX 1080Ti and I get 60 to 90 FPS @1440p with SSAA set to 2X, no physx. Don't need it. Game looks absolutely gorgeous though.

If i turn down SSAA to 0.5X then i get a fixed 144 fps. But the downgrade in Image quality is easily noticeable.

Bottom line Metro's AA kills Framerate and what you're seeing on your 1070 makes total sense.

I have an i7-7700K, Titan X (Pascal), and 16 GB of RAM. My game was running like ♥♥♥♥ at 1440p and 1080p (didn't test it at 4k). Once I turned off SSAA completely it runs great! Yeah, it doesn't look nearly as good, but I can play it without a terrible FPS

tl;dr Lower or disable SSAA

What do you mean by running terribly? How much FPS are you getting?
2x SSAA brings down FPS to about 70 on avg, but its still smooth, with Gsync anyways.

This isn't a twich FPS shooter, It's all about the atmosphere.
2x SSAA brings out the atmosphere perfectly so FPS hit is definitely a worthy compromise in this game, if you have the hardware to run it at atleast 60 FPS.

Never use 0.5x SSAA unless you are running a total toaster, that cuts your resolution in half. If you don't know what SSAA is, don't use it.

I kept getting frame drops. If I notice it, it's too much

I have g sync but haven't tried 2x SSAA, I just went straight into the game. Got tired of playing around with the settings instead of the game itself :(
