Ubisoft announced the latest entry into the Assassin's Creed franchise is already beating sales of the last game in the series.

According to a press release ahead of the company's quarterly call with investors, Assassin's Creed Origins has sold "100%" better than Syndicate in the same 10-day period following launch.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said credited the "longer development lead times" on Assassin's Creed Origins and other Ubisoft games, allowing developers to "fully express their creative visions." Guillemot added the longer leads mean Ubisoft can "maximize the potential of our games."

Ubisoft's first-half sales are up 65.7% over the same period last year, with digital revenue up 69.1%.

In February 2016, Guillemot announced Ubisoft would be moving away from the Assassin's Creed annual release cycle. At the time, he expressed his hopes that moving away from the annual schedule would allow creators to take advantage of new engines and technology.

In our Assassin's Creed Origins review, we gave the game a 9, calling it "a deep-dive into a truly stunning realization of ancient Egypt."
