Conge'

CONGE'. A French word which signifies permission, and is understood in that sense in law. Cunn. Diet. h.t. In the French maritime law, it is a species of passport or permission to navigate, delivered by public authority. It is also in the nature of a clearance. (q.v.) Bouch.
