Voluit "pingere tabulam Britannicum rubrum", et exclamavit: "Hae omnes stellae . . . hi vasti mundi, qui praeter coniectum manent! Si possim, velim alia planeta adiungere!"[1]

Imperialismus est consilia, usus, vel sententia ut potestas diciove unius civitatis augeatur, praecipue a recta terrae adeptione, vel a regimine non recto de politica oeconomicave aliarum terrarum vita; latissime, is est propagatio potestatis, auctoritatis, vel potentiae.

Imperialismo saepe sunt duae significationes: haec actionem describit; haec animum.

1. Actio: Imperialismus est facinus potestatis, dicionis, vel regiminis extensi ab una civitate super terras praeter suos fines.

2. Animus: Imperialismus est opinio superioritatis super alios populos.
