euphemism To die. If they invent a hoverboard before I hand in my dinner pail, I'm definitely going to try it, no matter how old I am. We were so lucky to avoid that massive accident—we could have handed in our dinner pails! A: "Yikes, why did I think Ed had already handed in his dinner pail?" B: "Probably because he's about 100 years old?"
