Season of AI: Microsoft Community Pilot

  1. Can I still get a free gift? The opportunity for the free gift offer ended June 30th.

  2. Am I expected to pay for shipping or any delivery fees for my free gift? No, please REFUSE delivery and email Azure-tech-Group@microsoft.com alias.

  3. Who can participate?

    Any speaker who has scheduled a Microsoft AI event in the participating user groups and programs. These include - User groups in the Microsoft supported Meetup Pro Network, active groups on the Meetup platform, Microsoft Reactor, Global AI Community, Microsoft Gold Student Ambassador, India Azure Developer Community.

    The first 250 eligible speakers will receive the free gift offer. The free gift offer ends on June 30th at 9 am Pacific Daylight Time (GMT-8), or while supplies last (whichever comes first).

  4. What do I need to do to join? Get a free gift? How do I sign up?

    The first 250 speakers who secure a speaking slot will be eligible for a speaker gift and stickers to hand out at their event.

    To be eligible, please fill out the form at: https://aka.ms/registerSeasonofAI. Be sure to include the link to your scheduled Microsoft AI event link available and that you are listed as the speaker.

    The free gift offer ends on June 30th at 9 am Pacific Daylight Time (GMT-8), or while supplies last (whichever comes first).

    Schedule your Microsoft AI talk to occur between May 24 and August 31, 2024.

  5. How do I make sure I'm listed as the Speaker in my Season of AI Meetup event?

    Ask the user group leader to check the "This event has a speaker" box when creating or editing the event in Meetup. They should add the speaker's name, bio, and a photo.

  6. I’m a speaker at a Microsoft Reactor and other Season of AI events are scheduled here, can I get a free gift?

    Yes, as long as you are a) listed as a speaker in the Microsoft Reactor and b) the topic on Microsoft AI products and services. Reminder that speaker gifts are limited to one per speaker.

  7. When does community pilot start?

    The Microsoft AI community pilot starts the week of April 8th

  8. When can I sign up for the community pilot?

    Speakers can work with user group/program leaders to schedule their event. When the speaker has their event link and they are listed as speaker they can complete the form at: https://aka.ms/registerSeasonofAI

  9. What are the key dates?

    The free gift offer ends on June 30th at 9 am Pacific Daylight Time (GMT-8), or while supplies last (whichever comes first).

    All Microsoft Azure Open AI Meetup events must take place after Microsoft Build (May 21-23) from May 24 to August 31, 2024

  10. What’s the free gift?

    The first 250 eligible speakers will receive the free gift offer. The free gift includes a speaker gift (socks, notebook, and crossbody bag) and 100 stickers for your event attendees.

    Limit one free gift offer per speaker/user group.

  11. When can I expect my free gift?

    Free gifts will begin shipping in early May. Please expect your gift to arrive in 6-8 weeks (hopefully sooner!).

  12. How will I know if I am selected?

    The Azure Developer marketing team will let you know if you are eligible via email Azure-tech-Group@microsoft.com alias. Please check your spam and junk folders so you don’t miss it.

  13. How long will it take to get my free speaker gift + attendee stickers?

    Allow up to 6-8 weeks but we hope it gets there faster!

  14. How do I get my free gift?

    Once you are notified that you are eligible, we will send you a code via email you via Azure-tech-Group@microsoft.com alias.

    The email will include a link to the gift fulfillment website and the code.

    Once you provide shipping information, it will take approximately up to 8 weeks to be delivered.

  15. My gift is lost? What happens now?

    Any gift returned as non-deliverable will not be re-sent. Please ensure your address is correct in the fulfillment site.

  16. Is Microsoft AI content available on the GitHub repo?

    Yes, topics cover "Generative AI for .NET Developers" and "Introduction to Azure AI Studio," of which Azure OpenAI will be a component.

  17. Where do I get the content for my talk?

    You can find Microsoft AI, such as Azure Open AI, curated content in this GitHub repo.

  18. What is the content format?

    The format is a user group talk, typically a 45 to 60 minute presentation with slides/demos/Q&A.

  19. What happens after my talk?

    Please encourage attendees to take the short, post-event survey via a QR code. The survey QR code will be included in the presentation materials and emailed to you via Azure-tech-Group@microsoft.com alias.

  20. Can I raffle off my speaker gifts to the people attending?

    Yes, you can raffle the free speaker gifts if you wish. Or you can feel free to keep them for yourself!

  21. Can I still use the Microsoft AI content if my user group or program is not part of one of the Meetup Pro Networks?

    Yes! We encourage you to use Microsoft AI content-in-a-box to help you be successful. You just won’t be eligible for the free gift offer.

  22. It looks like the free offer is closed. Will there be similar offers in the future?

    The "Season of AI" is a pilot and if successful, we want to do more offers like this in the future.

  23. Will speakers and participants have access to Microsoft's AI services?

    No, participants nor speakers will be provided access to Azure OpenAI or other AI services. Speakers would need to have their own access to AI services, and if they don't, they'd need to rely on pre-recorded demos.
