cable shield

cable shield

[′kā·bəl ‚shēld]
(electricity)
A metallic layer applied over insulation covering a cable, composed of woven or braided wires, foil wrap, or metal tube, which acts to prevent electromagnetic or electrostatic interference from affecting conductors within.

The EMC-KEL ensures a 360 [degrees] contact of the cable shield.
where j is the imaginary unit; [omega] = 2[pi] x 50 [s.sup.-1] is the angular frequency of current; [R.sup.*] is the active resistance of the unit of the cable shield length, [OMEGA]/m; [[??].sup.(m,n).sub.k] = [[??].sup.(n,m).sub.k] is the complex amplitude of the total flux of the magnetic field which is created by the currents of the core and shield of the k-th cable and penetrates the circuit formed by the shields of cables with numbers m and n.
The cable shield is connected to the shielding enclosures of the host and the client at the ends directly, while the inner wire of the cable links the devices of the host and the client which are denoted by the resistances [R.sub.1] and [R.sub.2], respectively, as shown in Figure 2.
Not only do shielded cables have superior alien crosstalk margin out-of-the-box, but the alien crosstalk benefit provided by a cable shield is virtually unaffected by deformation and strain during or after installation.
For example, when measuring capacitance of a length of coaxial cable, connect the HI terminal of the electrometer to the center conductor of the cable, allowing the cable shield to minimize electrostatic interference to the measurement.
The TERA connector maintains cable shield integrity and noise immunity into the outlet through a quadrant design that isolates each pair within the interface.
* The cable shield needs to mate fully with the cable connector.
Their SKL range of spring clamps can be supplied in seven sizes covering cable shield diameters from 1.5 to 29mm.
The cables feature consistent isolation between overall and inner shielding to fulfill S400 cable shield isolation criteria.
REQ and ACK are placed in the center of the cable bundle with data located on the outer loop near the cable shield.
Because the grip ring fingers tend to plow rather than compress the copper, minimum reduction is transferred to the internal diameter of the cable shield, thereby preserving the original cable performance characteristics.
Due to the spring pressure on the cable shield, a constant secure contact area is guaranteed, even during vibration of the cables.
