Meroblastic Eggs

 

animal eggs that undergo incomplete (discoidal or superficial) cleavage in the course of development. Meroblastic eggs are characteristic of certain invertebrates (cephalopods and the majority of arthropods) and many vertebrates (hagfish, sharks and rays, bony fishes, apodal amphibians, reptiles, birds, monotremes).
