Ishtar Terra

(ish -tar) A large highland area in the northern hemisphere of Venus. Centered on the Venusian coordinates 70.4° N latitude, 332.5° W longitude, it is a flattish plateau bounded on three sides by mountains, including Maxwell Montes, the highest range on Venus. The plains around Ishtar Terra feature many coronae. See also Aphrodite Terra; Beta Regio.
