Wikipedia:WikiProject Medicine/Radiology task force

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Welcome to this medicine task force. If you have any questions about articles or are generally seeking advice, you're encouraged to ask at the Medicine talk page, the centralized point for discussion, thank you.

The Radiology Task Force of WikiProject Medicine aims to better organize information in articles related to radiology. Radiology is the medical specialty that deals with acquisition and interpretation of medical images, such as X-Rays, MRIs, CTs, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list there.

Scope

[edit]

The clinical aspects of radiology and basic aspects of engineering and medical physics required to understand medical imaging techniques.

This task force aims to:

  • increase the quality of the current articles on radiology topics by increasing their medical content while keeping them accessible to individuals with no specialty medical knowledge
  • facilitate the creation of new articles on topics in radiology, so that Wikipedia is a more-or-less comprehensive radiology resource for the public
  • ensure that articles created on radiology topics are thoroughly referenced and include up-to-date links to the most recent literature
  • explain the use of evidence-based medicine in radiology
  • maintain consistency per WP:MOS on radiology articles
  • increase the number of images attached to articles
  • produce radiology-themed featured articles based on the above

Project notice

[edit]

The template for marking an article as part of the Radiology task force is part of the WikiProject Medicine banner, {{WPMED}}. It can be inserted into an article's talkpage with:

{{WPMED |class= |importance= |radiology=yes |radiology-imp= }}

The first "importance" parameter is the subject's importance to the overall field of medicine, according to the guidelines here. The importance of a subject to the field of radiology should be listed with the "radiology-imp" parameter.
