The article The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article Classic Albums: Pink Floyd – The Making of The Dark Side of the Moon has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The article's topic is not notable and its info can be covered on the page "Classic Albums".

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. – Fayenatic London 14:06, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I Still consider your edit to be redundant and useless. Plenty other artist albums use their official casing even if it 'iz uncoordinatED LIek THEIIZ' I don't see you or anyone else making these edits. Justin Bieber's purpose album for example. Uses the official spelling and casing as on the album. things like song titles and artist names shouldn't be changed "for the sake of english" these are copyrighted things and are the official way they're known. It does NOT come down to personal preference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by XXEmoPunk911Xx (talkcontribs) 02:32, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's not personal preference, it's following a guideline that has been agreed upon by the community. Also, see MOS:TRADEMARKS: "Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules, regardless of the preference of trademark owners." Yeepsi (talk) 09:27, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Purpose does follow the guideline, though. Some of the songs on the deluxe/Walmart editions with "to"/"in"/"the" in them are in lowercase, as per the guideline. Yeepsi (talk) 09:47, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can you expand and revamp the article? 183.171.182.246 (talk) 06:15, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have any interest in the band/that album, sorry. Yeepsi (talk) 10:19, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, saw you removed all the links to McTernan's name...his article was deleted at AfD, but he's a producer on dozens of noteworthy musicians' albums. I had hoped someone would eventually dig up enough information about him to reconstitute that article, but now that all the links were taken down, I doubt anybody will think to look now. If you come across interviews or other coverage of him, I'd be interested, as I'd very much like myself to put that one back up. Chubbles (talk) 21:06, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'll keep an eye for any interviews I come across. If you do restore the article, I'll gladly go back and re-add the links. Yeepsi (talk) 21:07, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Remember the Laughter

[edit]

Hello, Yeepsi,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Remember the Laughter should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Remember the Laughter .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Onel5969 TT me 01:43, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ayo. Sent this up for GOCE to work on since I noticed it's got issues with prose, apparently. I noticed that you were the original GA nominator. If you don't intend to finish off this article, do I have your permission to nominate this at a later time? It'd probably be May before I nominate it, but still would like to have this post-hardcore classic up there. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 21:10, 5 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sure Danny, go for it. Yeepsi (talk) 22:35, 5 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I did a bit of clean-up with the extra tags and noticed most of the refs had died. I would gladly add archive links, but the Wayback Machine won't load for me, for some unknown reason. I did manage to replace a few of the dead refs with better sources, though, and added a bunch of new ones to the talk. Yeepsi (talk) 23:29, 5 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You're a citation wizard, Yeepsi. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 00:28, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

North (Something Corporate album)

[edit]

Hello:

The copy edit that you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article North (Something Corporate album) has been completed.

You'll notice that I archived one of the article’s citations (#1). I suggest you archive the rest of the article’s URLs as time allows. This ensures that the article's references are available "forever" and that it doesn’t develop "dead links" over time. The site I use is https://archive.org/web/. Simply copy the URL in the citation and paste it in the "Save Page Now" box on the archive.org site and click "Save". This creates a copy of the original page and provides you with a new URL to add to the original citation. If you look at the URL I've archived you'll see the syntax. You add the new URL to the end of the original citation like this: |archiveurl=http etc|archivedate=March 12, 2017}}. Not all websites allow archiving, so there's not much you can do about that unless there is an alternate citation you could use.

Good luck with the GAR.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

The Used discography

[edit]

Hey Yeepsi, I'm not sure if you care about the band that much, but a user you reverted who's been trying to push through undiscussed changes every now and again on The Used discography since 2015 has been at it again over the past week or so. Would you be able to help keep an eye on the page? They've been moving singles and albums around willy-nilly and making other such unquestionable actions. Thanks! Taking Back Sunday

[edit]

Hi: I've just started the c/e you requested and have not been able to resolve this issue in the lead.

In May "Faith (When I Let You Down)" was released as a single, along with its music video. In June, "This Is All Now" was released as a single, and on June 28, Taking Back Sunday was released through Warner Bros. and Sire Records. The band embarked on a tour of the US with Thursday in June and July. In July, a music video was released for "Faith (When I Let You Down)", followed by the release of the single "You Got Me" in August.

Was the music video released in May or August - you have two conflicting dates (underlined). Can you let me know? Thanks. Twofingered Typist (talk) 20:18, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Twofingered Typist: They're two different videos: one showing the recording process, as well as live footage, while the other has a narrative to it. I forgot to mention the difference when expanding the lead, my mistake. Yeepsi (talk) 20:37, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I should have read more carefully further on in the article - sorry. I've clarified the info in the lead. Twofingered Typist (talk) 12:11, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You may have seen the very useful InternetArchiveBot go around archiving stuff. A friend of mine notified me recently that it is now free to use for any user. It's a bot which makes it incredibly easy to archive sources. I can archive five articles' worth of sources (completely) in 45-90 seconds. Check out IAbot! Thanks for the CE! According to WP:LEADCITE, citations don't need to be in the lead unless it's some extraordinary claim or a quote. Yeepsi (talk) 22:36, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The Good Article Nominations Page Needs Your Help!

[edit]

Good Articles: Music needs the help of willing reviewers!

Hi there. You nominated an article for evaluation against the good article criteria some time ago, but I noticed you have yet to review an article yourself. Although it's not mandatory, it would be helpful if every user who creates a nomination also reviewed at least one other article, as this would help clear the massive backlog. Reviewing someone else's article can also help you in the long run: every article reviewed brings yours one position closer to the top of the nominations list! If you worked on the article you nominated, chances are you're already familiar with the six good article criteria. It really isn't hard to review, and may take an experienced editor only a few hours to complete. If you have the time and would like to help, please click here, take a moment to figure out which article you'd like to review, then click on its (start review) button. Thank you for reading, and if you need assistance with your review at any point, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page and I'll respond to you as soon as I can. Homeostasis07 (talk)

So Wrong, It's Right

[edit]

Hello:

The copy edit that you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article So Wrong, It's Right has been completed.

I marked a sentence in the Composition and Recording section that I think needs clarification. It's an interesting quote, but it needs to be elaborated upon because, as it stands now, it raises questions that aren't answered.

I had a look to see why citation #75 is displaying the way it is, but I couldn't figure out how to get rid of the instructions. Perhaps you know?

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Good luck with the GAN.

A tag has been placed on Template:Exile on Main St. tracks requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. I remember almost two years ago now you attempted to nominate this and had no success. Do you wish for a co-nomination, or would you rather I nominated it like I did with Selfish Machines? I think I have it all fixed up. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 23:53, 7 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A Lesson in Romantics

[edit]

A long time ago, I made some edits to A Lesson in Romantics in the hopes of seeing it one day promoted to "good article" status. I got sidetracked... like, really sidetracked... and then lo-and-behold I notice years later that the album has been promoted! I presented a barnstar to DannyMusicEditor, who told me that you also co-wrote and co-nominated the article, and so I present you with this belated barnstar:

The Good Article Barnstar
Thanks Yeepsi for helping to promote A Lesson in Romantics to Good Article status. Please accept this little sign of appreciation and goodwill from me, because you deserve it!--Gen. Quon (Talk) 02:43, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

GOCE review

[edit]
Thanks for the CE! Yeepsi (talk) 19:15, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Great work once again! A suggestion: Taking Back Sunday's bio is suffering terribly. It seems someone is picking up on this and fixing the article up little by little, but have you ever thought to add some information you're putting in the album articles into the biography itself? Just thought I'd bring this to your attention. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 03:05, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Danny. Funnily enough, I did actually plan on working on their main article after I had expanded their albums (something I've also been meaning to do with ADTR, Mayday, etc). Since I'm more or less done (aside from sending to GOCE) with their newest album, I might get round to their bio later this week or next week. Yeepsi (talk) 14:31, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NALBUMS

[edit]

Hi. I just want to suggest that this might not be the last word about how to structure discographical information on Wikipedia. There are a number of editors who unilaterally redirect any album page without a battery of reviews attached to it to an artist page, without merging any content. I have never thought this to be constructive, and there are at least some people who agree with me; there was a recent conversation at WT:MUSIC (here) in which this was debated somewhat further, with little headway. So I guess I just want you to be sure, for yourself, that you're doing the right thing for the project in hewing to the letter of that contested guideline.
