Question from TOBI$WURLD (22:34, 17 July 2024)

[edit]

HELLO, HOW CAN I CREATE A WHOLE BIOGRAPHY ABOUT SOMEONE --TOBI$WURLD (talk) 22:34, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi TOBI$WURLD, and welcome to Wikipedia! To create a biography about someone, you can use the Article Wizard. It will guide you through the process of creating an article that can be submitted for review. Biographies on Wikipedia must meet the notability guidelines for people. Since I don't know who you are writing about, I can't give you more specific guidance. All information, especially if the biography is of a living person, must be cited with a reliable source. Let me know if you have any other questions or need any help. The Teahouse is also open for questions at any time. Happy editing! C F A 💬 23:29, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Across the River & Into the Trees Movie

[edit]

You have undone some information on our movie which cost us a lot of money to make. The film is a 2024 film that is when it gets its release in the industry film is calculated on its release it was still being finished until quite recently . Please change it back to 2024 movie as it doesn't get released at all the end of August of this year. I have corrected a mistake it did not premiere at the Sun Valley Film Festival it was a festival preview which is used for marketing purposes. It doesn't get its release until August the 30th. Here is a press release that we've just put out this week explaining that. Much appreciate if you put it back as to the correct information. https://www.flickeringmyth.com/trailer-for-hemingway-adaptation-across-the-river-and-into-the-trees-starring-liev-schreiber/ 151.71.102.61 (talk) 22:46, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, please read our policy on paid editing. Editing for pay — directly or indirectly — without disclosing it appropriately, is a breach of Wikimedia's terms of use. Your edits were promotional and reverted. C F A 💬 22:49, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No they are not promotional they are factual the information that you keep changing it to is incorrect. 151.71.102.61 (talk) 22:52, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not being paid by anybody. Why would you assume? We simply wanted to put up information about our movie. 151.71.102.61 (talk) 22:53, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Because you said this is "your movie". If you work for them and are being compensated, it is a form of paid editing. Either way, you are connected to the subject and it is still a conflict of interest that has to be disclosed appropriately. Editing the article without disclosing your conflict of interest is not allowed. Once you disclose your COI, you can make an edit request on the talk page. The edit you added, "hitting cinemas in August 2024" is not written in the neutral point of view and was added solely to promote the movie. If you need any help, consider leaving a message at the teahouse. C F A 💬 23:04, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you think I'm a vandal?

What did I do wrong?? Xdwev vfre2wwd (talk) 19:55, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Xdwev vfre2wwd: Sorry, you made an (accidental) typo in the first word that you changed. I gave you the level three warning because you had previously been blocked. I've reverted my edit. C F A 💬 19:58, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i got blocked for disruptive editing and mild disruptiveness at that. I assure you I'm here to build an encyclopedia. Xdwev vfre2wwd (talk) 20:00, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I want to edit a google wallet

[edit]

Salam CFA,

I made an edit to the Google Wallet page regarding the compatibility of iPhone 7 or later devices with Apple Wallet. I stated that this compatibility is only for Japanese Apple devices. My edit was reverted.

Could you please provide an explanation for this? If there’s additional information or guidelines I should follow, please let me know on my talk page.

Thank you! Raayaan9911 (talk) 20:53, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wagner, also a librettist

[edit]

Dear CFA,

As Richard Wagner wrote his own librettos, that undoubtedly makes him — among others, of course — a librettist. Leaving out this detail is disrespectful to the great composer.

Look I’m sorry

[edit]

My cousin is literally dying right now (from cancer, stage four, on the deathbed) and I would really prefer if you’d stop doing this. I know you mean (really) well and I respect what you do, but it is neither the time nor the place. 185.138.112.177 (talk) 22:50, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

But I do love what you do anyway. Keep up the good work (sincerely, Cassidy). 185.138.112.177 (talk) 22:51, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Bushabezwe (12:36, 21 July 2024)

[edit]

I wish to edit Meerkat information in exchange for Zulu name such as Chajane --Bushabezwe (talk) 12:36, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bushabezwe and welcome to Wikipedia! Unfortunately, the Meerkat article has been semi-protected because of vandalism. Luckily it won't take long to be able to edit this article: You just need to have had an account for 4 days and made 10 edits. You've already made 10 edits, so all you have to do is wait 4 days. In the mean time, there are millions of other articles you can edit. If you're looking for jobs to do, the task center has lots of options. You should also have some tasks on your homepage that have been chosen for you. And if you're looking for a surprise, Special:Random will send you to a random article to check out. Hope this helps — let me know if you have any other questions. Happy editing! C F A 💬 14:34, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting an edit

[edit]

Please explain your revert of my deletion of certain content from Thomas Matthew Crooks. Of relevance is that I had linked to a t/p discussion in my edit summary unlike you. Regards, TrangaBellam (talk) 10:09, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@TrangaBellam: There was previously consensus for inclusion with this discussion. If you disagree with it, then perhaps an RfC should be started to gather wider input. C F A 💬 14:45, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Roy Freirich

[edit]

Hi! Thank you for reviewing my page. I've been working on it for a few months now, and have been on the chats speaking with editors and applying their suggestions to my page. In terms of the significant coverage, I was told that a grammy win was enough to qualify. I am also confused about my sources. I removed every source that didn't meet the criteria. The author's online biography was said to be permissible in order to disambiguate his name (Roy Freeland/Freirich). All of the other sources are major publications/reputable websites. I would really appreciate any advice on how to proceed. Thank you! Gabriela Jatene (talk) 16:18, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Gabriela Jatene: Hi, yes, a Grammy nomination is enough to meet the notability guidelines for musicians, specifically criteria #8. Notability is not really an issue here. Your sources are why I declined your draft. Because this is a biography of a living person, it is especially important that all claims are cited and can be verified to reliable sources. Bandcamp and Medium are both unreliable sources because they are self-published, user-generated content. A lot of your claims relating to his books are cited directly to the publishers' websites, which are primary sources. That is not necessarily an issue in itself but it would be better if you could find some secondary coverage (i.e. reviews in reliable sources), especially for claims going beyond "he wrote this book". I don't see why it wouldn't be accepted if you make sure to improve the sourcing. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy editing! C F A 💬 17:49, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for clarifying! I'll get on it! Gabriela Jatene (talk) 17:15, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

redirects: Rotherham Advertiser , Rotherhamadvertiser.co.uk , Insider Media Limited , Insider Media Ltd. , Insider Media Ltd , Insider Media , Insidermedia.com

these topics are probably not notable enough for their own articles, redlinks in this case, is hoping for the perfect.

98.248.161.240 (talk) 18:52, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe, but these redirects would be kind of pointless. National World has a list of media owned by the company; turning these into redirects would just create circular links. I assume all the list entries are linked so that the non-existent articles can eventually be created. C F A 💬 19:00, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The redirect AAoDT has been listed at redirects for discussion to determine whether its use and function meets the redirect guidelines. Anyone, including you, is welcome to comment on this redirect at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2024 July 23 § AAoDT until a consensus is reached. Hello CFA, just wanted to say thank you for explaining in such depth your reasons behind wanting to redirect the page "You Missed". about the page declined

[edit]

Dear CFA

A page I wrote was declined and I would like to explain. In my opinion, prof. lee is a [WP:ACADEMIC]] 's criteria from number 5 to 8. This is because he has been a professor at one of Korea's top universities for more than 30 years, editor-in-chief of a prestigious international journal, and president of Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology in South Korea.
