Renaming tracks... why?

[edit]

What's up with renaming tracks? What's special about [re]connect vs Reconect? For example, The Dillinger Escape Plan has a song called "*#.." and it's not renamed as "star number dot dot", note: "stilized as "*#..". Even worse, Norma Jean has two songs stylized with brackets and they don't get renamed to the unbracketed form.

Don't blindly revert useful changes just because they come from an unlogged user.

Mother (Veil of Maya album)(m)other – The technically-restricted brackets can simply be substituted with parentheses to produce a more-satisfactory title. This would also eliminate the need for parenthetical disambiguation. JohnCWiesenthal (talk) 03:47, 30 June 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Quadrantal (talk) 06:11, 7 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
