High notes Live

[edit]

Middle of this song, Gimme Shelter is where you can see Lisa's whistle register the best --leahtwosaints (talk) 04:27, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Any body have a more concrete birthday?

The closest date I've seen is 1958.

Fair use rationale for Image:LisaSo.jpg

[edit]

Image:LisaSo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:16, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A Bigger Bang 2007

[edit]

Is she touring with the Stones right now? --212.200.207.132 00:41, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, in fact she now serves as Mick Jagger's foil onstage, in several songs placed on the set list to show off her talents. Examples are "Gimme Shelter", and "Monkey Man". Saw her last in Brazil with the Stones on the 2007 tour, and she's still got it.--leahtwosaints (talk) 00:58, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Voice type What is she? I would say big lyric coloratura soprano - in "How Can I Ease The Pain" you can hear what I mean - very full lyric big powerful voice, very agile and high and coloratura also because of whistle register. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.218.230.178 (talk) 21:16, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gimme Shelter

[edit]

How is Gimme Shelter not mentioned in her main profile? Lisa Fischer IS Gimme Shelter. Anyone that has seen the Stones or is a fan knows she brings the house down. Anyone coming to this site should be directed to video or audio of her doing Gimme Shelter. No disrespect to Merry Clayton, but Lisa makes that song. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pav964 (talkcontribs) 06:29, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

First, PLEASE sign your posts. Well, I understand, it's true that Fischer took the song and made it hers. It should (and will in time) be mentioned in the text. I will see if another Wikipedian is willing to make a couple of song clips for her page, one for "Gimme Shelter", probably (but not just here-- especially since this is not a contest to find her best performance, remember, this isn't You Tube- Gimme Shelter at the Paradiso, 1995 from 2:20 to 3:10, and another clip of her own Grammy Awarded song, "How Can I Ease the Pain".--leahtwosaints (talk) 00:53, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

German?

[edit]

Can anyone tell me why Lisa Fischer is listed in the Category: German Americans? There is nothing in the text saying this, and (although there are people of African descent in Germany, Fischer is from the Bronx. If I don't get feedback on this, I will remove the Category. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 20:07, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Photo

[edit]

There are no other free images than these two photos here that I can find. Both are by Hans Eder, and there were some mixup problems in Wikimedia Commons, though the pic in the infobox now has a BY license, and should be just fine. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 20:07, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
