The thin red line

Beam (3:44) (Composed by John Powell)

why is it missing here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.70.81.135 (talk) 20:03, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This article is an amalgam of errors: Is John Powell British or (naturalized) American; location of Trinity College; etc.?

[edit]

Please note:

This article starts out "John Powell (born 18 September 1963) is an American composer and conductor ... After studying at London's Trinity School of Music ..."

Then further down, under Life and Career: "Powell was born in Buena Park, California. He originally trained as a violinist as a child, before studying at California's Trinity College of Music."

FInally, under External Links:

1. SoundtrackNet - John Powell Biography http://www.soundtrack.net/composers/database/?id=171 This biography describes John Powell as a Brit who has relocated to California but doesn't mention his becoming an American citizen, whereas 2. John Powell at the Internet Movie Database Only states his birthplace (London) and birthday (18 September 1963), with a small bit of Trivia under that. The link back to Internet Movie Database is not an external link at all but the Wikipedia article with that title.

Meanwhile, Wikipedia's John Powell (Disambiguation) page lists him as British: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Powell_(disambiguation) _______________________

Anyway, I just bought one of Powell's books I can't trust this Wikipedia article for such basics as his origins, how can I know what other errors might have crept in?

REQUEST: Can someone who knows what's going on – perhaps one of the article's original contributors – please make the necessary corrections? --Erasistratus1 (talk) 02:25, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

– No primary topic. The film-score composer who currently occupies the undisambiguated title is currently active and fairly prolific, but his long-term significance is uncertain. It is pure WP:RECENTISM to suggest that he is more significant than all the other John Powells combined. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 17:24, 10 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ice Age: Collision Course

[edit]

I don't think he returned to compose Ice Age: Collision Course. He composed the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Ice Age movies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.37.29.207 (talk) 16:55, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The final sentence in the Career section is unsourced. Should it be removed? ExtragalacticXG (talk) 17:26, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
