Requesting a block? Wikinews:Blocking policy states that administrators may block users who "excessively and consistently break site policy. Admins should only do this as a last resort - efforts to educate must be made first, followed by warnings." Admins can not and will not block unless this policy is followed. Please do not raise an alert here unless efforts to educate the user have been made, and warnings have been given. If you have an ongoing problem with another user, you should consider Wikinews:Dispute resolution. |

CC license upgrade, edit-protected pages to update
[edit]As part of the project to upgrade the copyright license used by en.wn, pages that mention the specific license version will need to be updated. To make the process easier in the future, we are trying to consolidate the places where we mention the specific version used. We are doing this in part by using {{Current CC Version}}, as discussed here: Wikinews_talk:Copyright#Pages_to_update_when_license_is_updated_from_2.5_to_4.0.
On that page is a list of edit-protected pages that need to be updated. There are instructions there as well as on most of the pages where I have placed an edit request.
Our tentative goal is to update our license on August 1. Other language projects have also committed to the change and are dependent on our project changing first.
We would greatly appreciate the help, as we are now stuck, unable to update several pages.
Thank you in advance. —Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Published) 14:17, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
