Meet Dominik, our QA Lead! Dominik makes sure our games are top-notch and free of bugs or issues before release. Stay tuned for our chat with him about his journey, experiences, and what keeps him motivated! What’s your position and what are you in charge of? - QA Lead - I'm responsible for ensuring that the final game is released in the best possible state, without bugs and any potential issues. What are your hobbies? - I enjoy sports. Mostly weightlifting, but I also like outdoor activities. Occasionally, I play games on PC or console with my friends. Why did you choose to work in gamedev? - I've been playing games on PC, consoles, and phones since I was 6 years old. Working with games fulfills me, and I've dreamt of being involved in game development since childhood. For how long have you worked in Noxgames? - This year is my 4th year. How did your career journey start? - At Noxgames on the QA position. What do you enjoy the most about the projects you work on? - I enjoy collaborating with teams, and I'm delighted when several months/years of work result in a great game that players enjoy and provide positive feedback on. What was the biggest challenge in your career? - The challenge is always present when we release a new project and in QA, we strive to ensure that the game reaches players without major issues. The end product must be worth it. What would you recommend to someone who wants to work in gamedev? How do you become a new member of Noxgames? - Definitely continue to develop and advance in the field you enjoy and don’t be afraid to show your skills. What’s your position and what are you in charge of? - I'm a programmer, and currently I'm responsible for maintaining a project that makes up a large part of our portfolio. What are your hobbies? - I'm a bit of an exception - I still enjoy playing games even though I make them. Besides that, I enjoy playing the electric guitar, and when I find the time once in a while, I also compose music. Why did you choose to work in gamedev? - I've dreamed of it since childhood. For how long have you worked in Noxgames? - I've been here for 6 years, this year will be the 7th. And I still love it here! How did your career journey start? - In my childhood, I enjoyed playing with Game Maker, then in high school, a classmate and I modded Half-Life 2 together. What do you enjoy the most about the projects you work on? - I enjoy having a significant influence on the final game. Plus, working in an indie studio is very diverse, so I definitely don't get bored. What was the biggest challenge in your career? - The toughest part is always deciding where to go for lunch. What would you recommend to someone who wants to work in gamedev? How do you become a new member of Noxgames? - It's great to complete a game. I’ve always struggled to finish my personal projects, so I recommend trying out a course or a game jam.
