Hello, PGA Tour Community.

Welcome to the Technical Issues board! 

Sometimes we lose the ball in the tall grass sometimes the ball is afraid of the dark, so we want to adjust our strategy and break 80. To do that first we need to understand what info we need from you to help make it a smoother troubleshooting game plan.


First though, we want to ensure you're posting on the correct board.

 

Examples of Technical Issues

  1. Connectivity (disconnections, lag, unable to access account)
  2. Account issues, change email/password/security question etc.
  3. Account action/banned
  4. Trouble installing the game

Examples of Bug Reports

Bug Reports relate to issues that are not resolvable by yourself or our advisors and will generally require us to replicate the issue in-house, develop a fix, validate the fix to ensure the issue is resolved and does not cause any secondary problems, and then provide a game update. Here are some examples:

  • Audio Problems
  • Crash/Freezing while playing a certain game mode
  • Exploits
  • Gameplay
  • Missing rewards

Secondly, be as detailed as possible when submitting a post!

  • The platform you play on, Whats your PSN ID/Gamertag?
  • Specific details on the issue you're experiencing (ex: any errors received, where it's happening in-game)
  • How long it has been happening?
  • What steps you've already tried to fix it?

Now that you know how to be in the Zone, here are some steps we recommend taking first in the event you're experiencing any technical issues:

Lag, Disconnections, or Trouble Connecting to Servers?

PC 

If the above links don't work, try the following. 

Spoiler
  • EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery) 
  • Repair/Verify your game based on which client you are launching from
    • EA App - Repair (My Collection > Tile Dots > Repair)
    • EGS - Repair (Library > Tile dots > Manage > Verify)
    • Steam - Verify in your library
  • Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance
  • Default your game to the high-performance GPU, AMD Settings | Nvidia Settings | Windows Settings 
  • Run the System File Checker tool then Check for Windows and GPU updates  
  • Remove any over-clocking or undervolting settings or software and check if the issue continues. 
  • If you are using any third-party programs or overlays running in the background, try disabling them prior to launching the game
  • Put your device in a Clean Boot then launch the game

 

Xbox Series X|S

Spoiler
  • Quit the game and other running apps from Quick Resume (For Series X|S consoles)
  • Remove any connected device, or additional USB's from the console then restart the Xbox and check
  • Check for updates 
  • Try the steps in our Connection and Advance Connection Guides 
  • Open you're Xbox NAT Type
  • Change DNS settings (You can use the public google DNS primary: 8.8.8.8, secondary: 8.8.4.4, unless there is a different DNS you would rather use)  
  • Persistent Storage 
    • Go to settings > Select Device & Connections > Then Blue-Ray 
    • Select Persistent Storage > Clear Persistent Storage 
  • Alternate Mac: 
    • Go to settings > Select General  > Then Network settings 
    • Go to advanced settings > Alternate Mac address > Select clear 
    • Select restart 

 

PlayStation 5

Clear your PS4/PS5's cache:  

  • Press and hold the PlayStation button on your controller.   
  • Select "Turn Off PS".   
  • Let the PlayStation fully power down and wait for 30-60 seconds.  
  • Restart the PlayStation.  

 

Tip: If you are using an external hard drive for your console, whether it's for PGA Tour or another game, please check to ensure all post-installation updates are going to the same drive. Having files located on the internal and external drives could lead to potential performance issues or errors. If you are installing the game on an external hard drive and experience crashes or errors, try re-installing to the internal to see if the results vary.
