So basically the whole mode is just a random mode made for no reason, the only sense of progress you have is the battlepass and the XP you gain and play more tactically. Coins / Streaks for future buyouts is a waste since there is no progression at all for me to carry on and play that game. Thought it was like EFT as you said, but you picked the aspect of extraction, where as in EFT you need to know the locations of the Extraction Zones, collect items that will help you later in the game / quests / traders. Sad to see another mode wasted by the game we all love.
