Post news Report RSS Resident Pizza: Canned.

It has been a long time since, but Resident Pizza, has finally come to an end in development, but not entirely!

Posted by on

Resident Pizza was the original, Quest For The Epic Pizza 3, it started development right after Quest For The Epic Pizza 2 and Director's Cut were finished, and since then... Resident Pizza has, never really had much work put into it, it was quite literally just a Resident Evil 1 rip off for Source. What's so special about being just that? Why don't you just play Resident Evil 1? It's way better!
Ever since Resident Pizza was shaping up to be far more ambitious and of quality than the previous Quest For The Epic Pizzas, in early 2022, Quest For The Epic Pizza: Again started development, a re-boot of Quest For The Epic Pizza to adapt to Resident Pizza's quality. It was at the time, formely known as Quest For The Epic Pizza: Lived & Replaced, it had 6 months of work into it, and was half-way complete! But...

Quest For The Epic Pizza: L&R, was terrible! It was not only good to work with, it also, was arguably the worst Quest For The Epic Pizza yet, worse than Director's Cut in design and unfairness.
It also felt very directionless, poor pacing of the story, though it did try a few things.
Ever since then, a tough call was made, to scrap the entirety of Quest For The Epic Pizza: L&R, and start over from scratch. Quest For The Epic Pizza: Again, already had a more experienced me, as i worked on plenty other things at this point, and Quest For The Epic Pizza: Again, is still, in-fact, in development to this day, though it had breaks of course. It was far, FAR better in execution QFTEP:A.
As of the time of writing, Quest For The Epic Pizza: Again, has finally reached its beta phase, after 2 years, most levels already exist, now it's about finishing them, polishing, and doing plenty of extra touches!
Quest For The Epic Pizza: Again is far more ambitious than most joke mods right now, i hope it will be worth the wait, it has been really fun to play test it, besides doing very quirky unique stages that are all different from one to another, alongside other people i brought in to try it. My estimate is of 2 - 3 more months to complete Quest For The Epic Pizza: Again. QFTEP:A has truly been the reason why Resident Pizza has fallen away, but also my vision for a mod has greatly improved to give you a reason to try it, rather than ripping off something like Gordon Freakman and Resident Evil. It's meant be something new and ambitious. Once this thing is out, you should not expect anything from the previous Quest For The Epic Pizzas for what's to come in QFTEP:A. It also for once has a more cohesive story. It has no trending memes or jokes, it's all within a bubble of development.

As for the conclusion of the series...
It is now Quest For The Epic Pizza: Z, the sequel to Quest For The Epic Pizza: Again (A is the first letter, Z is the last latter, meaning, Z is the final chapter), it's a direct follow up, re-booting Quest For The Epic Pizza 2, but it won't be more of the same of Quest For The Epic Pizza: Again, i like unique sequels that still keeps the spirit of the original. Some parts of Resident Pizza will be brought to it, but i won't get into details about what Quest For The Epic Pizza: Z will be either. Quest For The Epic Pizza 2 was filler.

I believe you will not be disappointed for QFTEP:A! Though i will not be too informative anymore about QFTEP:A, as it will release, as a surprise, and with no more build up. A joke mod like no other.
