Dedicated to the users who provided me with criticism & feedback.

Vanilla UI Plus (VUI+) is a Fallout 3 & New Vegas mod that greatly improves the user interface without compromising the original style. I like vanilla as it reminds me of old PLATO programs, and the original fonts are easy to read by everyone, including controller users. To quote Billy Graham:

“And get a bible with big print. I think one of the greatest tricks that the devil ever pulled off on the American people was when he started printing bibles with such little print that nobody can read them.”

VUI+ has a few prominent and hundreds of under-the-hood features, as seen in the annotated screenshots below and the changelog. It’s provided under a copyleft license (see License.txt in the mod package). Here's a very promising fork.

To request support, please use the latest versions of xNVSE, JIP-LN, UIO, Stewie’s Tweaks, JohnnyGuitar and YUP, and make sure that you have installed VUI+ according to this guide. You can post comments at the end of this page but for feature requests or technical questions please use the forum instead.

Overall good mod, but personally not a fan of the changes made to the dialogue interface. The text is centered and the background is removed, plus the name tag seems to have slightly moved. I wonder why you made this change, considering the original UI was considered mostly fine and pretty iconic

See the thread here Moddb.com as it contains a link to solve your issue.

I replied to your argument under the question: "Was there a reason why you removed it in the first place? Just curious."

The text being centered without a background is the first experience a player sees when he first runs an unmodded game, both in FO3 and FNV. I believe Bethesda did their best in designing the intro, and I kept this format for subtitles everywhere.

The name tag is slightly moved because I wanted to support different aspect rations. The name in the original game is always right-aligned which is not balanced in very wide monitors.

I see modders are still having to clean up Bethesda's laziness almost two decades later.

I was just thinking it's about time for a fallout run but why is this mod #2 trending right now?

Hello, I like it very much. But why does the font go out of the box and not automatically change lines?

This sounds after incorrect installation. Make sure you have Font Tweaks install which comes with VUI+. Make sure there is no oddity on Font mods you using such a Classic Fonts from Nexus which are plain broken.

Hi, I don't know if it's just me but, every time I pull out the pip-boy, and/or go to the menu via esc, it freezes the screen for about 5 seconds every time, is this a bug anyone else experiencing? Is there a way to fix it?

Make sure there is no conflicts something which overwritting VUI+ unless a mod states otherwise. Make sure you have most base mods installed. New Vegas Heap Replacer may will help on not to heavy modlist in this cases
