Remember to download soundtracks separately. Check for available patches before playing the game, or download them manually.
Mental Omega 3.3.0
This release includes:
- A complete new faction: The Foehn Revolt
- CnCNet5 compatibility for multiplayer services
- 12 new subfactions with their own unique sets of units
- 52 new single player missions, including a campaign for Yuri
- 28 new cooperative maps for 2 players
- new skirmish/multiplayer maps, around 500 total
- new skirmish/multiplayer game modes, 14 total
- updated visuals & audio
- a new soundtrack, unique for each side (separate download)
To make Mental Omega (3.3.0) work on your computer, follow these instructions:
DO NOT INSTALL 3.3 WHERE 3.0 IS! They're incompatible!
1. Mental Omega 3.3 is not a standalone mod but it does not require a CD to be played.
However, it requires the following files from C&C Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge, patched to version 1.001:
- BINKW32.dll
- BLOWFISH.dll
- gamemd.exe (patched to version 1.001, from original CD, The First Decade or The Ultimate Collection release, if any other gamemd.exe file is used Ares DLL will not be injected and game won't start)
- ra2.mix
- ra2md.mix
- language.mix
- langmd.mix
2. Either unpack all the contents of Mental Omega 3.3 archive to the location
of your Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge installation, or copy the game's directory,
rename it and unpack all the contents in the copied one.
Make sure no other modifications are installed in the directory where Mental Omega will be.
You can also simply create an empty directory, copy the files listed above to it
and extract the contents of Mental Omega 3.3 archive to the newly created directory.
The following is advised if you are playing Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge multiplayer on CnCNet:
DO NOT extract Mental Omega 3.3 files to the folder where CnCNet for Yuri's Revenge is installed.
3. If you have downloaded Mental Omega music, extract thememo.mix to the mod's location.
4. Run MentalOmegaClient.exe, configure the settings and play solo or multiplayer on CnCNet.

whenever I try to patch it with YURI-1001 ENGLISH it says "Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match." I'm running on Windows 7
You are either using a cracked 1.000 version or are using The First Decade/The Ultimate Collection, which are ALREADY patched.
I have the ultimate Collection one but then why can't I find gamemd.exe?
Let origin repair the red alert 2 and yuris revenge it will fix corrupted and missing files.

what happens when player builds multiple buildings that provide supporting power? like Harbringer Tower, for example. does it make any difference? faster recharge maybe?

have you guys gotten a fix for the black yr screen? I uninstalled mine but I can't install it again because even the installation screen is just black lol

Somthing dosent work campaing it says fatal eror
If it's just the campaign, it'll will be patched in 3.3.1.
Running client is fine, but whenever I launch a game it won't launch.
And yes I have tried every suggestion I see in this thread, but still nothing. Either I missed something or I'm not doing things right...

Never mind. Problem solved. Seems I forgot the 1.001 patch, the "run as administrator" properties then put the render in DxWnd.

Trying to launch a game in any form gives a garbled mess of colors, then a crash without any info. All things are set to administrator, All render modes have been tried. This issue did not crop up in earlier versions of MO. I'd give more info, but it is impossible to get a screenshot.
If you're on Windows 8/10, set gamemd.exe to run in 16-bit colour mode.
If you're on Windows Vista/7, set your monitor's display mode to 16-bit colour before running the game (don't forget to restore it back to 32-bit when you're done). Guidingtech.com
I already did this. Syringe mentions a conflicting DLL/Patch, but this is a fresh install with various compatibility files so it runs AT ALL for vanilla RA2/YR.
Guess I'm FUBAR until it magically works again.
You likely used XWIS' compatibility fixes on RA2/YR. It appears Ares doesn't like those fixed EXEs, so you'll need to find unedited ones from the CDs, The First Decade or The Ultimate Collection and put them in the separate MO directory as per the instructions in the download's description.

Hi, i cant start skirmish/campaign, the client disappears and reappears and no game starts. On my very first run a game started but the screen stayed black,
Restarting my computer solved it, never mind
finally got it to work. I still have no idea how to play foehn properly but I'm having fun 10/10

Well, having troubles launching the game. Anytime i attempt a skirmish, the menu minimizes down as it should, hangs around for a game to launch, then pops back up, with no errors, as if the game had closed before it even launched.
Run as admin fixes things for no describable reason.
I'm having the same issue. If I try to start a campaign or skirmish game it does the same thing yours does, minimizes the launcher, launches a game and IMMEDIATELY closes it and then goes back to the launcher.
I ran the game as admin, went through all of the renderers, checked and double checked to make sure the files extracted to the RA2 folder. I'll send a syringe report to the email as well.
