Lucium total war is a mod that takes place in the year 1700, and goes all the way to 1850, with technologies and warfare progressing as you play. There are 2 main campaigns to play, both being completely unique, taking place in an expanded Europe that goes from Swedish-Finland to Persia, and an original and totally unique South America. The Europe campaign beginning in 1700 (around the Spanish Succession Crisis and the Great Northern War), and the South American campaign beginning in 1819 (around the revolutions of Simon Bolivar). The 1.0 version of the Europe campaign of Lucium Total War, was released officially on April 20th 2020, with the 2.0 version being released shortly afterwards on the 14th of June 2020, and then also a 2.5 version on the 4th of July 2020. This began a short break for the team as we worked on the 2.6 version, as well as the South Americas campaign: Bolivars Revolution, having those release on the 12th of November 2020. We adore 3.0, and hope you do also!
Welcome to Lucium Total War 3.0+1.1. From Spain to Poland-Lithuania, and from Chile to Gran Colombia! Released: 08/04/2022 Last Patched: 20/04/2022
It's going to be a long night tonight!
Thanks
Gracias
oh yes this mod is alive :)
I am excited for my Charles campaign
Wow, at this point you only need 2 total war games:
total war shogun 2 for best vanilla and medieval 2 for mods of any period!
indeed indeed haha
how to download? just put in medieval 2 mods folder?
Put and unpacks Lucium files in Medieval 2 Mods folder and make sure that it's called Lucium_Total_War and there is data folder inside and then click on Lucium_Launcher.bat file every time you want to play the mod.
Where are the installation instructions please?
Perfecto
so far the amount of improvement has blown me away. but something is a bother. my prussian line infantry and pistoliers when firing seem to aim at an upward angle rather then directly at the enemy? is this a feature or a mistake?
the realistick projectiles makes them act like that
Hi i was watching the video how to install the mod and i noticed when he went on the download page the size is only 1.63gb but on here is 3.27gb why is that
There was a bug to do with the sound files not loading properly. We have now fixed it and uploaded a new file, but this means that the file size is larger unfortunately. This is a small price to pay for the ability to hear sound haha
Thank you for quick reply
No problem at all. The team is here to help.
extract the zip lucium file. put the file named "Lucium Total War" into your mod folder in your Medieval 2 directory. After that, go into the Lucium Folder and click on the launcher. Follow the instructions and choose a campaign. Enjoy
dont work for me :c when i try to lunch the vanilla game lunch instead

I can help you through the install process there.
solved! ^^
Does this have North America as well?
No it does not
How to install?
Moddb.com
This mod standalone? installed in mods folder clicked launcher typed 1 for 1700 and it crashed 3 or 4 times? I have steam version.
Did you use the install guide when installing?
when I try to launch the vanilla game launch instead. Need some help here.
Did you use the install guide?
I just read install into your medieval 2 mod folder then use Lucium launcher then use either 1 or 2 Campaign? I do have other mods in mod folder I wonder if they are conflicting?
You click that Lucium_Launcher.bat in Medieval II Total War\mods\Lucium_Total_War and then you can select which campaign you want to play right now. You need to do that every that before launching this mod, so make a shortcut on your desktop.
Saves are separate, so nothing gets removed and you can play different campaign each day if you want. Eg. you can play European on Monday and American on Tuesday.
Lucium doesn't conflict with other mods as long as you properly install it in Lucium_Total_War folder according to installation instructions.
I had to separate the 2 campaigns in mod folder, put the European Campaign in Lucium mod folder removed the other South American mod then went to steam Medieval 2 launcher options and typed in --features.mod=mods/Lucium_total_War then launched game through steam launcher that started it for me. I have no idea why it wouldn't launch with your launcher? It seems like an interesting mod, just not used to playing Medieval 2.
There is literally an install video to follow man haha. Here it is:
And if you are wondering where it is in the moddb page. It is in the dedicated "Tutorials" section.

Why didn't you make this for Empire total War or Napoleon? You guys did a great job with this a lot of detail, good job.
@Ya_Boi I followed that video to the letter and still the launcher didn't work man lol. Oh well I got it to work.
Congratulations for the release. Finally a proper 18th century Total war. Everything is working okay and I just have one quick question. My battles they seem a little bit slow, nothing that ruins the game, causes crash or anything but compared to other mods and even the older 2.6 version, it is a bit slow, is there something I can do to repair that?
What do you mean by "slower"?
The animation is slower, the troops look like moving in slow motion.
Is this all units. Or just pikemen
All units, for some reason, and I really have no idea why, this problem is more visible on siege operations, I think it´s something about my configuration, but I try to change everything and this keeps going on
Well pikemen have a movement debuff in order to balance them after we fixed the pikemen going to sword glitch. Other than that, no unit should move slowly.

i'm from uruguay and this is a dream i'd always had on my childhood, playing the history of my country in total war. in fact, i think this is the only representation of this period of history in any rts, so i'm super greatful to you! thanks for this!
No problem at all, and it'll be improved even further in the next update :D
can you post something on the main page of the mod for when you update? Had no idea a new version has been released. Also a way to know the patch is actually loaded in the game! *promoted on facebook too*
We have posted the final patch to 3.0 already, so from now onwards there will be no changes till our next major release :)

I'm having a problem getting the south American campaign to lunch it keeps crashing I tried more than 20 times the European campaign launches perfectly fine I followed the install guide should i try to redownload the mod?
Yeah we recommend simply reinstalling. This could only really be a problem with a file corrupting while downloading.
