You are Parker, a weary miner who works for the corrupt Ultor Corporation. You reside on Mars, sometime in the future, and when a plague spreads through the mining community, some of the Ultor employees uncover a massive conspiracy. Thus ensues a battle by a group of lowly workers, headed up by the educated Parker, to expose the deadly experiments Ultor has unleashed onto its work force.

i could not be stuffed finishing the game. i just havent got round to doing it. im too busy play multi with friends and stuff. so is the 1 player game any good?
Yeah well if you got ****** with cheaters use RF 1.30 patch since it prevents from joining multiplayedr games at all if you got editor or cheatmod running.
This game is pretty awesome. Unfortunately developer atleast does not support game at the moment in any way. And this game has some known holes that cheaters abuse. Never the less that does not reduce the community's attitude to this game, as there has been made multiple useful tools, for server searching, and mainintaining (even without SDK).
Anyway I could say that to this day "unique" real-time, arbitrary geometry modification ability makes game to be more than long lasting fun.
And the fun is at roof, when you find an stupid modder, and own hes sorry ***.
Still this game is my choice of modding plantform (since game itself and level editor are better than most). Also I am currently working on concept and details of my mod (I hope to be able to release first versions during the summer, or even before)

Volition turned there back on the RF community as soon as it became apparent that they had no type of server/client executable checking.Basicly you could change your game files to enable say, unlimited ammo, flight, and super speed, then JOIN ANY SERVER!The usual reaction of a reputable company is to patch the game to fix it.They made a half assed attempt.When that didnt work they SHUT DOWN THE COMMUNITY FORUMS and walked away.Thanks volition, you suck.
Red faction stinks on ice. Nothing but a watered down FPS aimed at console gamers. 'Nuff said.
