Taking gamers as close to war as they’ll ever want to get, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is the much anticipated return of the genre-defining military conflict simulator.
Players will experience the intensity, diversity and claustrophobia of a modern conflict from the unique perspectives of an infantry marine, a helicopter pilot, a Special Forces officer or a tank commander, each engaged against the full force of the Chinese PLA on a scale never previously experienced in a military action title.
KEY FEATURES:
Freedom of Play – Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will give players the freedom to handle military crisis situations on their initiative. Unscripted missions will task players with real objectives, such as laying down covering fire, covering a friendly unit’s retreat or conducting short-range recon patrol. Once players have completed the campaign, a Mission Editor enables gamers to create their own single player and multiplayer missions.
Players will command and control a wide variety of multi-component, multi-weapon vehicles, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, APCs, attack and utility helicopters. The character damage system authentically depicts the terrible wounds and injury from modern weapons to communicate the reality of combat.
Platoon-Based Combat - As an epic campaign weaves the narrative, players will fight as infantry soldiers in battle, drive tanks in armored assaults, pilot helicopters in air strikes, and infiltrate the enemy in covert special operations utilizing a wide variety of realistic military weapons from knives and rifles to machine guns, grenade launchers and laser designators for air strikes.
Redefines the Size of Battle - Immense play areas of more than 135 square miles give players a multitude of tactical decisions on how to best accomplish missions. Densely packed with environment detail and objects, valleys, mountains, coastlines, towns, villages and industrial complexes all combine to deliver a rich and challenging tactical environment. The world is persistent, so that buildings destroyed in one campaign mission will be destroyed in the next

GameRanger is an alternative to Tuungle, which was shut down a few years back. It can be used to enable internet multiplayer in OF:DR!
Codemasters shut down their online multiplayer servers for Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising only 3 years after it's lauhch, much to the dismay of it's players. Well, that is no longer an issue! GameRanger is something I found while searching for Tuungle alternatives, which allows people to play games that have had online multiplayer servers shut down to use the game's LAN fearutes to play online. You can create and join servers, add friends, and have fun! I believe it only works on WIndows though, but I'm not sure if the multiplayer features are still functional on Xbox/PS3, it is still supported up to the Xbox Series X/S so it might use Xbox Live servers instead. Might be something that templargfx or one of the other OFDR modders might be able to figure out.
Download GameRanger at Gameranger.com. There is a list of supported games on their website.
If you'd like to play with me sometime, drop me an email at noahsdom@gmail.com and we can arrange something.
Hope all you Rising Dragons have fun with this!
P.S. you can use the OFDR Reddit or the comments on this page to arrange something with each other: Reddit.com

I think this game is good, its a nice balance in difficulty u can just run out there and hammer everyone and expect to live, but its also not that hard that u die from a random bullet out of nowhere first shot. (unlike arma) but where you get shot determines the amount of damage u take and it lets you know where you got shot, i have to say i really like this game.
Tbh this game is no where near as bad as it's made out to be, sure arma 2 is a better game and more of a sequel to operation flashpoint, but it's still a pretty good game.
I can't say most of the nay-sayers here are wrong, but I've been playing this game again recently in co-op and I actually find it quite entertaining. It's not a classic by any means, but if you can't quite stomach the uncompromising authenticity of ArmA and ArmA2, I find Dragon Rising to be a pretty decent half-way point between that series and all-out action shooters like the Calls of Duty.
It should probably be compared more to the old Delta Force games than anything. It has a similar amount of flaws to DF too, but its good sides still manage to shine through, in my opinion. Worth picking up on sale if you liked Delta Force, and I'm definitely keeping an eye on Red River.
anyone who bought this game based on the ridiculous lies and your own idiotic assumptions deserved to get burned. if you plan on buying the second because it'll be "improved", you're an idiot. how's that old saying go? fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
Yes this game sucked, the first one was WAY better, not to mention the multiplayer, you cant even download missions you don't have, not to mention addons don't exist anymore. And a broken missions editor... they need to try again.
For those considering buying this game, I would not lend any creedence to the remark about the mission editor. The game has it's flaws but it didn't suck and I can assure you the mission editor is not broke. See Squad Level Tactics Endgame, which was created with the "broken" mission editor.
crapy game a disapoitment i dn no hw its even called ofp
This is not worthy as to call itself an OFP game
I cant decide whether to buy ARMA 2 or OPF DR? What do you think is a better game?
I say it is your fault. I mean if you guys complain so much why did you buy it???? I really dont approve of this fowl language. As I say, fowl language deteriorates the mind.
