Age of Mythology is the third game from the Age of Empires Series, taking place in Mythical Times far before the rise of modern civilization. Players choose from 3 cultures (Norse, Greek, Egyptian), and then shape the development by worshiping gods; different gods reward the player with different mythological beasts and powers. Multiplayer is available through a matchmaking system and there is a story driven single player campaign as well.

This game seems interesting to mod....
Does anyone know how powerful the engine is? is it as good as the SAGE engine (is it the SAGE engine?) what are the limits? I was thinking of modding for C&C generals, or Warhammer 40k, but this seem like a good alternative. (for a first mod anyway.)

It's very good alternative, a bit much easier, plus the map editor is A LOT eastier to handle and to make maps with. Don't know anything about AI coding, and random maps coding. Can be tough.
