Comcast opens up XfinityWifi to anyone in Texas

Was on the Comcast forums website, and they have a scroll stating that they have opened up Xfinitywifi to anyone in Texas, due to the hurricane. They also appear to have a blog. Do other states have these?

Every state that has Comcast service should have their own blog site. Just replace the state name with yours in the URL.

Sometimes you have to use a city like Chicago instead of Illinois. »chicago.comcast.com/

Why bother locking it down in the first place?

Because they sell it $20 for 30 day access even on rental modem that broadcast hotspot

Yep.

Usually it is a for-profit service.

But as I said earlier, kudos for opening it up in this time of crisis.

my whole point is they are just doing it to look like a hero. so people say something positive about comcast. pretty sure theres no other reason
they will still be the most hated company.

Regardless.

Comcast is providing a service.

If you have read my comments here, I am not Comcast's biggest fan. Quite the contrary.

But when a company does something good, I will cite it.

Comcast opens up XfinityWifi to anyone in Texas

That's A Good Thing.
