The package Optimum package I ordered in Nov. '23 was 1G (950mb/s max) internet w/Optimum mobile plan, each of which are billed separately. When I ordered the (almost) 1G plan, my phone sales rep was quite clear and transparent that 950mb/s was the max available in this area. I had my own Arris SB8200, along with Netgear AX12 wireless, Netgear dual wan port lan router and Netgear G724 lan switch when I relocated to WV from VA, where I had a similar bundle plan with Xfinity. Optimum provides a combo modem/wifi rtr with two lan ports but the modem/rtr doesn't support bonding. The Altice wifi 6 radio is weak and lossey with some jitter. Phone tech support is good, and overall an average user would probably be satisfied with the performance. A gamer or someone streaming live video over multiple devices would be better served with more robust equipment. Optimum does offer "wifi-6 mesh" proprietary range extenders. The first is free, then $3 ea thereafter. I'm dropping by the store tomorrow to pick up some extenders see if I can swap the Altice modem/rtr unit I have for an Altice UB1340 which supports 6E- 2.5, 5, and 6Mhz raido channels because my ipad 11 pro, Mac Studio M2 max, and iPhone 15 can take advantage of 6E. I live in a mobile home which is almost a faraday cage, presenting a challenge to outdoor reception of WiFi connected devices such as laptops, tablets, security cameras and Cell calls over WiFi.
