AN UPDATE, CALL OF DUTY® ANTI-CHEAT PROGRESS REPORT

  • 公告

Our teams remain committed to rooting out cheaters and repeat offenders across Call of Duty ® and Call of Duty Warzone™ - today, we would like to share the following progress report, which includes aspects of how we work, our research, and further updates.

Our Progress

Cheaters are never welcome. To date, our security and enforcement team has issued more than 475,000 permabans in Call of Duty: Warzone. Yesterday’s large banwave was our seventh high-volume set of bans since February.

In addition, our security and enforcement teams also issue bans daily – seven days a week – to individual offenses or repeat offenders. The combination of daily bans plus large-scale banwaves are an integral focus of our efforts.

We also are tackling the commercial market of cheat providers and resellers. This includes suspicious accounts, which are farmed and often sold to repeat offenders. We recently banned 45,000 fraudulent, black market accounts used by repeat offenders.

Removing cheaters and taking away their ability to move to alternate accounts is a key focus for the security teams.

As we’ve mentioned previously, we’ve increased our efforts in several key areas:

·      Utilizing 2-factor authentication to make it harder to access new accounts simply to cheat

·      Ramping-up additional resources to support our security and enforcement teams

·      Increased frequency of high-volume banwaves in addition to our daily banning of repeat offending accounts

·      Improving regular communications and updates

How We Work

Some have asked if we issue hardware bans. We do issue hardware bans against repeat, or serial, cheaters. This is an important part of our effort to combat repeat offenders.

Research

Recently, the security research team published a report on malware hidden as a “dropper” in a fake cheat that was being offered for sale. If you missed it, click to read the full report here.

Updates

As the security and enforcement teams continue to tackle cheating through enforcement, prevention, research and technology, we will continue to share constant updates on our progress.

Again, there is no place for cheating. Delivering a fair and fun experience for all players is our top priority. On behalf of all the teams across our Call of Duty® security and enforcement groups covering Warzone, Modern Warfare and Black Ops, we will not rest, and we appreciate your patience.
