„The Best Script That I've Ever Read.” Channing Tatum Would Like to Do Axed 23 Jump Street, for Which They Have A Good Idea

Although there hasn't been a new film in the Jump Street series in years, Channing Tatum, the star of the movies, isn't giving up and wants to make a third installment.

Jump Street is a twisted comedy series based on the 1987 TV series starring Johnny Depp. Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill were the stars of the theatrical shows. The series, unfortunately, ended after two movies, although given that it seems that the sequel's after credits scene exhausted any possible ideas for sequels, perhaps it was time to say goodbye.

And so it may have seemed to some until leaked information that there was an idea for a third film that would be a crossover with Men in Black, which could breathe a whole new life into Jump Street. But despite the existence of such a crazy vision, this one was never realized. However, there is one person who hasn't given up all this time and believes that Jump Street should be continued, and that is the star of both movies – Channing Tatum.

The American actor is thrilled with the vision of a film that would combine Jump Street and Men in Black, as he revealed during an interview for Comicbook earlier this year.

There is a project that was written and it's still the best script that I've ever read for a third movie. You know what, I'm going to put some good juju out there and I'm going to say I would love to see 23 Jump Street. I would love to do it with Jonah, and Jonah I know wants to do it. We would love to just get to go play again.

Tatum explained that although the idea was brilliant and he would have liked to take part in such a project, as would Jonah Hill, it did not come to fruition despite his efforts.

It's just a lot of bureaucracy, kind of above the line stuff. It's really hard to get it made and we've been trying to get it done.

So for now, there's no good news for fans of the Jump Street series, although it looks like Tatum hasn't given up yet and would still like the film to be made. Whether it will eventually succeed in this field, only time will tell.
