Wolves, Lions set for 'Qatar Clasico' battle today.

Tribune News Network Doha Al Rayyan and Al Sadd are poised for another 'Qatar Clasico' on Saturday at the Al Sadd Stadium as both teams look to reignite the drama and bragging rights the famous tie has brought over the years to the fans. Al Sadd top the QNB Stars Leage with 41 points, eleven clear of Al Rayyan and two ahead of closest rivals AL Duhail who visit Al Gharafa on Saturday. Ahead of the tie, Al Sadd coach Jesualdo Ferreira says the match is 'motivation' for his players. "It's the biggest fixture in Qatar and we are very motivated. I have nothing else to say other than that the fans will have a big role to play in this match. I hope they all will support us strongly. "I think the pressure will be on our rivals more than Al Sadd. We are the leaders and the difference of two points with Al Duhail does not mean much in football, but we are determined to win all remaining matches in our bid to win the title," the Portuguese said. The Lions have enjoyed a resurgence in recent games and recently qualified for the group stages of the AFC Champions League thanks to new signing Gelmin Rivas and Pereirra was quick to acknowledge the change. Al Rayyan are a great team that likes to play an open game and we are ready to play with all strength. They have a new striker in Venezuelan striker Gelmin Rivas who has been productive. We have seen him in action in two games and he scored four goals. We, at Al Sadd, are not concerned about a particular player. Our goal is winning the league title," Ferreira added. Meanwhile Al Rayyan coach Bulent Uygun says his players are exhausted after the midweek clash against Iran's Saipa. Rayyan will also be without influential captain Rodrigo Tabata and midfielder Daniel Goumou. "Our players are suffering from exhaustion after our AFC Champions League play-off win on Tuesday. It is against this backdrop that we are going into the Qatar Clasico against Al Sadd. "There are a lot of star players in Al Sadd. But in spite of that, we will play to win. The main thing is it is a big clasico between the two teams. We started preparing for the Al Sadd match soon after our victory over Saipa in the AFC Champions League," Bulent said. "I think Al Sadd can be defeated. We will miss the services of players Rodrigo Tabata, Omar Barri and Daniel Goumou. "However, we have other players who can make up for their absences. I also hope that the fans will greatly enjoy the match," the Turkish coach added.
