Two arraigned for defrauding firm Sh994 million.

Two men were arraigned for forging a title deed and conspiring to defraud a company of Sh994 million.

Peter Gitau Muiruri and Peter Njoroge Kanika are accused of forging a title deed purporting it to be a genuine one issued by Rosemary Anyango,a Nairobi land registrar.

In the second count, the duo with others at large allegedly conspired to defraud Gidjoy Investment Limited about 11.8 acres valued at Sh994 million on November 28, 2001.

The accused are also charged with making false documents including a lease and a letter of allotment purporting them to be genuine.

Appearing at a Milimani court before chief magistrate Martha Mutuku, Kanika and Muiruri pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The court granted them Sh1 million cash bail each with an alternative of Sh2 million bond each. The case will be heard on October 16.
