Spoiled meat seized in Oman.

Muscat : Muscat Municipality officials on Monday confiscated 43 animal carcasses unfit for human consumption in Mutrah. According to municipality officials, the surprise inspections coincide with the Holy Month of Ramadan. In an online statement put out by the municipality, it said, "Coinciding with the approach of the Holy Month of Ramadan, The Food Control Section of the Directorate General of Muscat Municipality, inspection visits were made to 23 meat and poultry shops to ascertain the freshness of the meat offered and the extent of compliance with the applicable health requirements." It added, "43 carcasses were confiscated for being poorly stored in Grand Mutrah."
