Senior football around the country is well underway and this weekend, the amateurs are back in action with both the Caledonian League and Central Scottish AFL kicking-off.

Restructuring of the Caledonian League means five local teams will be fighting for promotion from Division 1 - Callander Thistle, Cambusbarron Rovers, Doune Castle, Dunblane Soccer Academy and Stirling University.

On Saturday, only Cambusbarron are idle with the other four side playing in the Douglas Smith League Cup.

In the Central Scottish AFL, Bannockburn and Fallin are both in the Premier Division and were due to start the season onWednesday with League Cup matches at Falkirk Community and home to Campsie Minerva respectively. Fallin manged to start with a win but Bannockburn's match was postponed Stirling and District AFA kicks off on Saturday, August 17.
